Most of the food took about an hour after ordering. They charged a service fee, so we gave little to no tip. Someone had the audacity to call the number that was on our reservation to ask us about the tip but it was a friend of ours who paid with their card so we said that’s gonna be a no. Never went back. I typically try to stay away from writing bad reviews but this experience was just too bad to pass up.

I went here a few months ago and forgot to leave a review, but I think about this meal so often I had to come back and do it. The tuna sampler is a MUST TRY. One of the best things I’ve ever eaten. Heritage pork gyoza was also 10/10, incredible sauce. We also got Nama crunch tacos, fried rice, and chicken katsu. Everything was phenomenal. Cool bar. We got an old fashioned- delicious and they smoked the glass at the table which was super cool. I think I remember there being a bit of a wait between dishes but we didn’t mind.

The food tasted good, but the portion was very small, so they get 1 star. I got the 4 course tasting menu and was left hungry afterward. The first two courses were appetizers, and I expected them to be small. They charged an extra $5 for the shrimp but then only served me 4 shrimp cut in half. The main course was extremely small and i ate it in 3 bites. The biggest portion was the dessert course, and the sorbet was great. Additionally, i ordered a roll and for $20 I expected more than 5 little pieces. This place would be so good if the servings weren't meant for kids.

D-damn. My teen has been talking about how shizz “slaps,” and who gots the “Rizz” and all that jazz (I’m a cuarentona- we still say that). This place is the real real. Haha. No, f’real the food was great, but the staff- even better!!! Just great people, that know they serve up tasty shizznit. It was a delight to come here and experience the deliciousness and the great people. They were joyous and professional and just the best. 10/10 WILL come back and soon.

First walked up they have a piece of paper taped ( that’s not completely together )to the door saying no public restroom. Kind of tacky but okay. We then proceeded to the host stand 3 hosts just starred at us. No hi or welcome to nama ko. Just a stare. I smiled and then one of them said how can I help you ! I’m thinking well I’m here saying hi obviously I want something to eat. I told her I would like a table to dine. She said ok hold on and took forever on her iPad. It was such a weird vibe and unwelcoming behavior. I noticed a weird smell like urine or bad fish either way. The place wasn’t full or busy. They could have told us to sit at the bar, high tops or okay let me check you in and we will sit you. Or just a hi welcome verse 3 people just standing staring when two locals walk in nicely dressed.

Our experience was good the service was great! The wagyu dumpling were great and the the ribeye fried rice was good! I would recommend getting the egg cooked instead of sunny side on top of the rice.

Their happy hour menu and pricing are extraordinary! Kudos for serving such amazing sushi fare. We also ordered off the dinner menu which was equally sophisticated. Their 5-eats tuna special consisting of high fat to low fat tuna was something super special. A must if you ask me. Thank you to Cesar for attentive service and wonderful suggestions. We will be back the next time we visit DC.

A group of seven of us enjoyed quite a feast here, and while the prix fix menu was a bit uneven, the sushi, specials, and cocktails more than made up for it. The modern decor and vibrant energy makes this a great place to enjoy a Japanese meal in the U Street corridor. The sushi we had were all pretty creative, well presented , and delicious included the Candy Cane, Almost Paradise, Orange Crush, Flamingo Royale, and the Pink Lady.Desserts were the only memorable and enjoyable part of the prix fix, very unique and flavorful without being overwhelming in any one dimension. For the cocktails, I would recommend the Smokey Mt Fuji (a variation of a smoked Old Fashioned) and the Americano (variation of a Negroni).Really fun evening, highly recommended especially for groups.

service staff seemed disjointed and uncoordinated. Took very long for anyone to acknowledge us after being seated. One didn't seem aware what the other was doing. Price too high for what it is

Sushi a bit too elaborate but very pretty— too many ingredients piled on so you can’t really taste the fish. And way overpriced. $70 for 2 rolls & a glass of wine (a 20% tip was already included.)

The freshest nigiri salmon ever! The rolls and drinks during happy hour was also exceptional. Freshest salmon I’ve had in downtown

Sharon A was very receptive and attended to our requests and she made some very nice suggestions. The meal, drinks and the desert was very good and the selection of music that was played was very relaxing. I did not give 5 stars for the Food/Value because portion size was very small with the Salmon. I ended up ordering another meal to feel me up.
