Really enjoyed this visit to Old Ebbitt Grill and it was my wife's first visit. We had oysters, drinks, and a chicken dish and the bacon cheeseburger for lunch and it was very good. excellent service as always.

It was an amazing way to spend Thanksgiving with our family of five. The ambience was beautiful. The food was 5 star

This was our first time dining at the Old Ebbitt Grill. We had Thanksgiving dinner and everything was fantastic from the ambiance to the food to the service. We will definitely return next time we're in DC!

Always good to be dining at Old Ebbitt Grill. Oysters and bubbly to start. How can one go wrong? Crab cake and ribeye were good choices for this evening's feast. Dominus half bottle did not have a chance. Fabian a true professional server. Until the next time. .. Cheers!

Food and ambience was amazing!!!! Definitely worth it! My husband's steak was a little over medium rare but overall was amazing! The coconut curry lentil soup was SOOOO DELICIOUS!

Overall, we had a very good experience. The service was fantastic. It was prompt, professional and courteous. The food was well prepared and delicious. The seating experience was extremely poor even though a reservation was made weeks in advance. We were a party of 5 adults shoved into a booth fit for 4. The restaurant needs to focus more on customer comfort than packing people in like sardines, placing profit over customer satisfaction. If you're going to be high end restaurant, you need to behave like one. Underwhelmed.

As a new traveller to Washington DC, i was overwhelmed with the restaurant options in the area, but the Old Ebbit Grill caught my eye on social media so i chose to book a table for my husbands 40th Birthday and what a great choice i made! He was over the moon as soon as we walked in and i was so pleased. I was worried it was going to be a little too ‘pub’ like, but i was very silly to have worried, it was perfect. Lots of booth style tables and we were seated at one. I loved the decor being paintings of the white house and other monuments in washington. It had so much character, it just added to the experience. Our waiter was great, he suggested the Fillet Mignon and the Crab cakes so we chose both and they were both so delicious! Highly recommend! We were surprised with a celebratory on the house dessert and wow, sooo good! The apple crumble/ice cream was amazing! If you are considering a visit here, you wont be disappointed. We loved it. If its a quiet restaurant you are after though, then maybe this isnt the one for you as it was quite loud inside, but we didnt mind. Just being in Washingtons oldest saloon was an amazing experience! Thank you to all staff for being attentive and making my husbands 40th birthday meal so special. We hope to visit again ine day.

We arrived a bit early for our reservation so had a drink in the bar which I really enjoyed. The place is noisy and manic but like something out of a movie. Loved the decor. Food was good, not big portions unfortunately for what you paid but service was good - if a little rushed.

We were seated right away, even though the restaurant was very busy. The service remained attentive throughout our meal. We started with the oysters, which were excellent, and the crab cakes—good, though fairly average. The roasted half chicken was outstanding—moist, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. Overall, it was a great dining experience.

Old Ebbitt is a classic nostalgic D.C. restaurant. The immediate feeling inside is old world, honored traditions, beautiful dark wood giving the feel of hundreds of years of political history. There were five of us that met at 11:30 with a reservation. The male hosts were stodgy and reserved not what I would call friendly. The waitress was darling, vibrant and friendly! She brough life and energy to the ambience of the restaurant. The food was not memorable and prices were high. The reason to go is for the history and ambience and chance of meeting a high profile political figure.

I was dressed in a Burberry polo and khaki’s and my 13 year old Son was wearing gym shorts and a sweatshirt. Typical teenager? We had a 5 p.m. reservation and were seated promptly. Charles was our waiter. Took our drink order and we ordered a 1/2 dozen oysters (we were charged the Happy Hour price.) My Son tried his 1st raw oyster.. I ordered the trout, my son ordered the 1/2 chicken. Both were excellent. Service was very attentive. We topped our night off with a hot fudge sundae. Excellent dinner on a beautiful Fall night. There’s a classy DC gift shop next door.

I visited Old Ebbitt Grill two weeks ago while I was in Washington, D.C. for work, and it was truly an amazing experience. The atmosphere is elegant yet lively, the service was excellent, and the food was absolutely outstanding — fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented.

Well, this is a big nosey, busy historical place that has been updated from the original location They have 4 bars and my favorite is Grants. The drinks are decent and priced well for a big city bar/restaurant. The service is great and they try to help you with your requests with a smile Dinner That's another story' The salads were great, the complimentary bread was great The oysters Rockefeller were not, they were tough and fishy tasting My pork chop was over done and like a hockey puck and my wife's trout was coated with a chesse breading that was thick and tasteless My advice go for the atmosphere a drink and a snack do not eat there

Top shelf. Not to be missed. Be sure to make a reservation in advance. This is our go-to place when in central DC. The food, service, and ambience make this a memorable favorite. First class service, varied and interesting menu, professional service. If you are looking for a treat, look no further. Whether it's for lunch or for dinner you will be treated like a VIP.
