I drove all the way from Texas after the Keith Lee review to see if in fact this food was nasty. As a culinary Institute of America graduate I can tell u this is NOT proper cooking or soul food. It tastes like the soul of a dead bird. Chicken was old and dried out. The shrimp n grits had no spice or flavor. The beef short ribs were like biting a NFL football, I Threw the mac and cheese away (and everyone knows I truly dispose wasting food, but it was inedible) whoever owns this restaurant needs a real executive chef putting put fire soul food. Even the cornbread was dry af....like how do u mess cornbread up? I don't recommend this to anyone. So may other great places in the dmv to eat at. This jawn aint it yall. Not to mentioned its slightly overpriced and horrible customer service. I will say the yams were fire and that teriyaki salmon was good flavor however it tasted freezerburnt.
I was confused when i walked up to the restaurant about where to order because there was a pickup window with a lady standing inside talking to a random guy. So, I just stood there until I got tired and asked if I should go inside to order. Then there was no wall menu, only a tiny scan code on a small checkout counter. Long story shortened, the food is EXPENSIVE!!!!! I paid $69.00 for chicken, meatloaf, greens, potato salad and a piece of cake. Oh, and a bottled soda. None of the food was exclamation worthy, but I did enjoy the fried chicken. It tasted like what I’d make at home. The potato salad was okay as well. I didn’t like the meatloaf at all and I’m not sure what meat it was made of. Maybe I should have gotten gravy and not bbq sauce.

Found this restaurant after a google search and it was on point!!! I had the fish and grits. When they asked me if I wanted gravy with onions and peppers I thought I went to heaven!!! Everything was cooked to perfection and I had enough for lunch the next day. I’ll be back. They have the right name for the reaction you have while eating!!!

I’m live in NC & I went on a trip to DC in March & ate at this place it has the best soul food! Everytime I take a trip I plan to get food from there! I want to taste everything in the restaurant but the fried chicken had me in love with the potatoe salad, yams, corn bread, collard greens macaroni & cheese ? I thought down south had the best soul food but this restaurant right there with it

Hey! I'm from Chicago up here for the WNCC@Walter Convention Center and someone told me about Oohh's&Aahh's chicken so we ride up there and ordered two short rib Dinners but I still wanted to taste the chicken this young man with his rude and nasty attitude self told me $41.00 for a dinner and one pc. Chicken, I said never mind so now I'm looking at the other staff prepare my food he rudely told us to get out and get your food at the window me not knowing cause I'm from Chicago. He threw everything in the bag and continued to fuss, the food was great tho?? but I love good customer service when I'm spending my money

"I came here to pick up 20 wings. They prepared them together with other wings. I've been waiting for 25 minutes. They don't care at all and don't respond. It took me 10 minutes to get the ready order. Don't order from here again. They keep all the drivers waiting. They don't care about anyone. They are disrespectful and rude. I do not recommend this place at all. Uber,eats, doordash, grubhub. Don't place an order from here. "Especially the girl at the counter, she's counting the minutes just to finish her shift and leave, she doesn't care about the customers at all, doesn't help. It took her 5 minutes just to pack the ready order."

Was in town for business and I wanted to ensure I visit a black owned restaurant. When I say I enjoyed my food… that’s not enough. I had lemon pepper wings which were delish! The lemon pepper was not your typical seasoning. It was very good. The turkey chops with gravy and onions and bell peppers were the best. I will be back!!!

Let me say Georgia Avenue is my preference in location however, I will order from this location on Uber Eats. Tonight I was extremely disappointed. My chicken wings were Very dry and hard to chew, and the other pieces were soaked with the juice from collard greens. They probably should have wrapped the fried chicken separately to prevent that from happening. Also, the mac & cheese was way too salty to eat.

I Traveled to DC for a few days and wanted to try some local places. Me and my folks stopped here before heading to the museum and when I tell you the food was good. Im from Alabama so I’m skeptical of soul food outside of the south?? but I was genuinely impressed. I had the Turkey chops, greens, mac and some banana pudding 10/10 would recommend. I don’t have any pics cause we inhaled our food. Shout out to y’all, somebody put their foot in that food. ??? ?
