Came here on a trip to DC the food was great! Loved the bread! And the pasta super yummy!
There’s no restaurant there ☹️
I am heartbroken to hear about the closing of Otello. It was my very favorite restaurant in my 7 years living in Washington DC and on the weekend we moved away, we got engaged there. If anyone happens to know how to contact the former owners, we would love any Otello memorabilia that was saved... :( :( :( :( :(
Great food. Very friendly server and manager.
Otello offers great food in generous portions in a cute, tucked away setting. Definitely a relief from the hustle and bustle outside and a great place for a romantic dinner.
My all time favorite Italian Restaurant of all time. Love the food, atmosphere and watching the family interact is incredible. Best food ever
My favourite Italian place in DC. The manager Carlos embodies the best of restaurant hospitality in town. The food is fabulous, especially the linguini with crab meat. Traditional style of casa de la mamma, Italian music and all. House chianti is the best.Editing the review now to reflect another pleasant surprise. I returned for another round of the linguini, and ordered it to go. When I arrived at my office, I saw the attention to detail and perfect care of the staff at the Otello for making sure I had all I needed to best enjoy a warm meal despite the cold harsh winds outside. They wrapped the container with an extra protection, and even remembered the cheese as in my previous order. Thank you, Otello guys!

We had lunch at Otello on a cold DC January day and the food was amazing! Delicious sausage in my husband's pasta dish and my minestrone was so yummy. Best I ever had! Our servers were so funny and friendly--I felt very welcome and comfortable. The prices are very reasonable too, especially for the area. If you're walking around DuPont Circle, please pop into Otello--you'll love it.
Good food good service! Would rate higher if the carpets were cleaner but we will be back.

We happened upon this restaurant after reading several reviews on TripAdvisor. We arrived at 5:10 and were the first table to be seated on a Friday night. I was a little concerned we were the only people in the place but as the night went on more and more people arrived. I had the penne puttanesca and thoroughly enjoyed it. My girls had fettuccine Alfredo. One child loved it. My other said it was “just ok”. It was very creamy. My friend had spaghetti bolognese which she enjoyed. Salad was plain but dressed lightly and delicious. Overall a good experience.
Delicious, large portions, were happy to accommodate kids with half portions and cushion orders, seems like a good place for dates as well as families.
Tastey food. It's Italian. They have lots of pasta!
Food was delicious. Prices were more expensive than shown in the menu pictures online though.
I was walking past site seeing and i visited 2 stores beside this resturant just looking new to the area , so i started getting tired and stopped in frount of this resturant and a man with a red car that was fixing his car in frount of the building started disrespectfuly walking up to me puting his hand in my face (yelling)telling me to move from in frount of his business ... Not knowing if i was walking into the resturant next, he just started harrasing me as if he wasnt making his resturant a mechanic shop ! Very rude !
