Palette 22 - DC is a gorgeous restaurant combining art with exotic dishes. The cocktails and food, like the 22 fried rice, are delicious. The variety of tapas, including shrimp and black bean dip, are tasty, along with the crispy beet dip with flatbread and perfectly roasted carrots. The papaya salad is good but slightly too acidic, while the potatoes and lamb kebab are excellently flavored—though the chicken thigh stands out even more. Happy hour offers great value, featuring lots of vegetables and protein options. Artists paint live, and their work decorates the walls, adding to the vibrant ambiance. The service is excellent, with Al crafting beautiful cocktails, including sweet gin drinks. While the food comes out quickly, the lively vibe makes it a great spot in the Union Market area worth revisiting for happy hour, brunch, or dinner.
