Arrived too the dimly lit restaurant right after they opened. There were no other patrons. The hostess/waitress greeted us and brought us to a table right next to the hostess stand. My baby was asleep and I didn't appreciate how inconsiderate the waitress was when she was breaking ice and pouring water noisily. When ordering my husband asked me my opinion on whether or not he would like a particular dish. Maybe the waitress misunderstood but she answered the question abruptly probably not realizing the question was not for her. When our food arrived she had brought out the dish that was in question before even though we nver said we wanted it. Subsequently a dish which we ordered was left out. The food was okay. We had a few cold dishes: sliced pig ?, wood ear, and century egg. For the main dishes we had sour cabbage fish soup and Mongolian Beef. Portions were all small except the soup. The beef was not tender and the soup lacked substance. I did not think any of the food was worth their costs but we were hungry and wanted to try something different and the food sufficed.

Really enjoyed the shrimp & eggplant hotpot, and the garlic chicken, which came with snowpeas and mushrooms. Paired with a pot of jasmine tea and sesame balls for dessert. This restaurant is definitely a hidden gem - so glad a friend recommended it.

Visiting DC to see a concert the place is close went there with my mother and 2 siblings food was great we all enjoyed the meals. Prices are high that being said you get a large portion so it’s reasonable I got the Curry chicken which was great. My mother and one of my siblings got the general tso, and another the beef Lo Mien, everyone was happy ended up spending about 80$ which is fair it’s about what I’d spend going to your run of the mill Chinese American place just with much better food.

Very nice Chinese food, if you can bear the usual atmosphere of a Chinese resturant, this is a good one for you.

I have been trying the Panda Gourmet restaurant for years. I love the mapotoufu , dandan spicy noodles and roujiamo Chinese burgers. I would invite my friends and family come over to try it again.

Absolutely disgusting food, terrible environment and poor service. Worst experience in DC. Ordered noodle, couldn’t even finish because taste was so off. Pork trotter had hair on it and it’s definitely days old. Never ever going back again.

As someone from Sichuan, this place is legit. But if you order orange chicken or sesame chicken etc., I imagine you’ll be disappointed. That just isn’t our food. Try the classics instead: mao xue wang, mapo tofu, “Chinese burger,” lazi ji (spicy chicken), double cooked pork, husband & wife duo (spicy tripe).

It’s not authentic Sichuan food at all! Don't be fooled by the "President Xi's Meal" on the menu. The taste is very bad, the mutton and beef are extremely smelly and fishy, and the tofu is half-finished. The Kung Pao Chicken can be said to be tender meat powder that can be tasted. You can't even taste the fiber of the chicken. It is not Kung Pao at all. It has no spicy or vinegar aroma at all. The shredded pork noodles with pickled mustard are just sesame oil mixed with water. It’s not a good sesame oil. The price of 100 yuan for three people is not expensive, but the taste makes people angry after eating it. I won’t say it anymore. I will shed tears if I say it too much ?
