The food has gone a bit downhill over the years. Sometimes it’s ok, other times not. Rice and beef are fine, chicken is suspect. We recently got some sesame chicken that looked underdone and not at all like chicken. Likely will be looking for another Chinese place in northeast.

Absolutely delicious food! I first came here six years ago for my husband’s birthday after hearing about the restaurant from a foodie. It’s an unpretentious spot with incredibly good food. We ordered 10+ different dishes that first time and loved everything, especially the dan dan noodles and the pork bun. Nothing can ever compare to their Dan Dan noodles no matter how many times we order them from different restaurants!

We moved far away after a few years, but when we came back to visit friends this month, this was the first restaurant we wanted to return to. The food was just as delicious as it was six years ago. Highly recommend!

Panda Gourmet is a great spot for real Sichuan flavors — spicy, bold, and super satisfying. The mapo tofu and cumin lamb are my favorites, and the portions are generous. It’s a simple, no-frills place, but the food totally hits the spot every time.

I would not recommend sesame chicken, or the other similar style chicken dishes (general tsos, orange chicken etc.) the chunks of chicken thigh are cut way too large and not cooked thoroughly enough. I was very hungry but could not finish my food due to this. Also the chicken fried rice was bland.

Excellent quality food. Spicy chicken has largest and freshest white meat compared to many competitors. Everything is so tasty!

One of the most authentic Chinese restaurants in DC. The outside and location can be very deceiving but the food is very close to authentic, the service is extremely fast. You can expect your fish dish to come out within 5 minutes of ordering on a normal night. I highly recommend the cumin lamb, cold cucumber salad, and dan dan noodles!

Excellent authentic Szechuan food. Has had impressive write ups and newspaper reviews through the years. Very close to National Arboretum.

We were on our trip to DC. By chance I pulled into the parking lot to check GPS. The wife suggested we grab a quick bite. The food was very decent. The waitress was not rude, but not polite either. Maybe that’s the thing with Chinese, we are not warm to our own kind.

This is the best Chinese food in DC. The place specializes in Sichuan and Sha'anxi style food, including lamb soup with pita (yang rou pao ma), and old favorite of mine from my semester abroad. I highly recommend going!

My wife and I were on a long road trip and just wanted some Asian food. We ended up here. It’s very fushioned, which means some dishes felt pretty real, others were totally Americanized. We only came in because the price was cheap. But what we got was better than expected. Taste was a bit above average, not super special, but totally fine for what we paid. I’d say it’s about 80 to 90 percent authentic. Food came out super fast. I also want to say that the front lady did a great job too. She explained the menu well, gave honest advice, and was fast and smooth with everything. I’d say this is a solid stop if you want decent Asian food without spending much.
