Decent amount of food that was good. They took my order, delivered it 10 minutes later. That was the last anyone checked in with me. After I was done eating, sat there for 10 minutes and no one came, had to go up to the front to get my check and pay. I have had just as of gyro and better service for 1/2 the price.

Very good food, excellent value for the money, great service. White table cloths but not pretentious at all. I was probably the only one under 60 during weekday lunch. Take heed of their wisdom this is a good spot.

We ate here during a week of house-hunting from out of town. This place is exactly the type of neighborhood restaurant we enjoy: good food, relaxed attitude. We had lamb shish kabob and trout stuffed with spinach and both were perfectly done. We ate on the patio at 8 pm and had no issues with mosquitoes mentioned in another review. The place was full and lively but not too loud and we had no wait. Just felt right in every sense. We ended up buying a house a few blocks away and expect to be regulars here.

I’ve been eating here since the early 90s and I have never once been disappointed. The avogolemono soup is the best I’ve ever had in any American Greek restaurant. The dolmades are perfect, and the moussaka and pastitsio are incredible. The atmosphere is casual and relaxed, but classy enough to dress up for during a special occasion. Outdoor seating is pretty decent for individual or a couple. The portions are very generous, and I look forward to the leftovers at home later on.

Lovely atmosphere, and great patio. Good bread! I ordered Mediterranean Chicken - absolutely delicious, and stuffed full to bursting with artichoke hearts and mushrooms. (Came with rice, green beans, and roasted potatoes. So good.)
Mom had Taramosalata; her portion was enormous: She took home more than she ate there.
We arrived at a truly awkward hour, and it didn't faze them one bit. The service was good - friendly, not effusive.
Mom left her wallet and freaked out. Despite being busy when I went back to collect it, they were very kind.
All in all, Parthenon is exactly the sort of neighborhood restaurant we all want in our lives. (I know I'll have to be in DC again soon - I'll look forward to another visit!)

Parthenon serves diner like food which is actually not bad at all. They have everything from the classic Greek menu and they're not trying to pretend to be an upscale restaurant. It's more like like a New Jersey diner with all the trimmings of a regular restaurant one issue they have in the summer is they have all these Nats that bite off your your legs nonstop a lot of mosquitoes I am suspecting that this might be due to the wet carpet that they have underneath which they should really throw away completely because it attracts all these bugs but they gotta do something about fans or whatever it takes because sitting outside with the bugs is unbearable other than that I recommend it
