This place is close to my office, so when I need to pop out for a coffee or baked good and Nino's isn't open, I sometimes go here. Just went in with my personal cup. The service was, as others have noted, unfriendly - not rude, but definitely wishing they were anywhere but there. My personal cup is smaller (12 oz) than their smallest size of coffee (16 oz), but she still charged me for 20 oz even when I pointed out it was a smaller cup. I decided - whatever, they get an extra 50¢, but really don't think I'll be back. Better to walk a little farther and support places like Dua, Nino's, or Slipstream. That said, you can always find seating (unlike those other options) and it's relatively clean. Coffee was mildly burnt, but not undrinkable.

Absolutely love PAUL in DC! This charming French café is a true gem. Every time I come in, the staff are genuinely sweet, smiling, and happy to help—it makes the experience even better. The food is consistently incredible, with fresh, authentic flavors that make you feel like you’ve been transported to Paris. And the coffee? Absolutely fantastic. Whether you’re grabbing a quick espresso or sitting down for a full meal, PAUL delivers every time. Highly recommend!

Terrible service. It seems that no one wants to work or are doing a favor for you, you have to beg everything.
Food didn’t came as we ask and the coffee just water
I didn’t even wanted to ask to fix or anything because I saw the incompetence there

When we came here no one was behind the counter, we waited for 10 minutes until someone came out the lady had an attitude towards all costumers . After we ordered the milk in a drink tasted sour we asked her what was up it she said there nothing wrong with it and tried to brush it off.

Beautiful atmosphere, polite staff, yummy treats and drinks. I got the Jasmine tea and a croissant (so delicious) and hubs grabbed a Americano with caramel and oat milk. Great place to stop as you explore the city. ⭐️ ☕️🫖🧋

We stopped by this morning for a couple very good croissants, one almond and one ham and cheese. The service was actually excellent and the the employees we spoke to were all very friendly.

This Paul location is nothing like the standard I’ve come to expect from the brand. The place was dirty and smelled terrible. Terrible service and food. A truly disappointing experience.

Place was not crowded. Bad smell and unclean tables. Waited for 40 minutes for an omelet and eggs benedict. After asking about it they told us that the order would take more time. We finally asked for a refund.
