I was disappointed in my dish. They told me the strawberries were super fancy and expensive. They were supposed to be "grilled" but were mushy, like when you defrost frozen ones. They didn't taste good and I didn't eat them.

Pasta consisted of 3 pieces of Ravioli for $25. Highly overpriced and hardly any food on the plate. Service was good however it felt like a huge ripoff for the prices charged. Definately would not reccomend.
Great ambience and service. Original cocktails that were tasty as were the desserts. Portion sizes were on the smaller side so you may have to order a couple of apps or sides to go with your entree.

Great food and great service! We came for my birthday and they went above and beyond to make it special. We ordered the beets and saganaki for appetizers, the cuttlefish and lamb for entrees and the chocolate mousse for dessert. All were excellent!

Started off with the pork and beef meatballs and eggplant recommend by staff and was delighted. The wild mushroom plate and octopus are an absolute must and were my favorite dishes from the night. Lamb shoulder (Arnaki Lemonato) came in next as next best dish with perfect levels of savory and juicy. Huge shoutout to the staff and the manager Lily, for making the entire night awesome!

Appetizers were the highlight of the course. Main dishes were OK. Waiter did a great job in explaining dishes. Good place for vegetarians.

After going for dinner, I was thoroughly impressed by Philotimo. The interior of the restaurant was nice and cozy, with comfortable chairs. I started with fava dip and asparagus. The fava was ridiculously good, and the asparagus had a well crafted balance of dill, orange, and crushed walnut accompanying it. For my side I had the fries. which were also quite astounding. My main, the lamb, was nothing short of excellent, with both a lovely flavor and texture. The Baklava was delivered in four small (and delicious) little pieces, providing a nice dessert for an impressive meal. The GM, Jill, was nice and helpful in identifying the delicious olive oil they had. I would highly recommend Philotimo for a top tier greek dinner.
Vegetarian options: Ample vegetarian options.

I swear to god I think some of these one star reviews are fake. This place is amazing. Incredible service, tasty food, and the pricing seemed very fair. We ate there on a thur night and there was only 5 tables, we had 2-3 servers at our beck and call. The manager Jill came over to personally thank us for coming and each staff member welcomed us as we walked in. Fernando was our main waiter and he walked us through the menu and was extremely attentive the whole night. Go here it’s amazing.

Had a great evening here! Tried lots of different things and liked them all! Make sure to get the spicy feta and greek fries! Service was nice and friendly. The manager came by to introduce herself at the beginning of our meal. My friend has a gluten allergy and she was able to select from most of the menu! She even said their GF bread option was the best bread she'd ever had!

when it comes to preparing Greek food outside of Greece, it is a big challenge to capture the flavors and tastes of the produce of Greece. Stefanelli has done fantastic job in getting the best quality produce. There is the best wines the best dessert, great bread, sauces, tremendous fish dishes, he has done something that is very difficult to do so I recommend this restaurant the ambience is beautiful. There is privacy in seating and enjoying your meal and everybody's trying to make you comfortable.

I don’t know how this restaurant doesn’t have all 5 star reviews. My friend and I went on Tuesday and the staff, food and aesthetic was all top tier! Our waiter was so sweet, explained all the options to us, made excellent recommendations, even charged my phone for me. We both wanted mock tails and he had the bar make us something special. Highly recommend this restaurant!

Eat at your own risk… horrible experience in private dining room upstairs. 1 waiter for 20+ people at $200 a head. Staff spoke little to no english, which may be the reason why, despite repeatedly informing them that someone in our party had a food allergy and their meal needed to be prepared entirely independent, they apparently screwed up somewhere (either failed to communicate or mixed up plate) - triggered immediate downward spiral of vomiting that ended in emergency hospital trip.

My experience with Philotimo has been equally disastrous, thanks in part to its association with the incompetent booking platform, Tock. Despite making a reservation through Tock, I received no confirmation and was left in the dark about the status of my booking. Philotimo's lack of proactive communication and failure to rectify the situation reflects poorly on its commitment to customer service.Adding to the frustration, Philotimo's conflicting cancellation policies with Tock only exacerbated the issue. Instead of providing clear guidance and taking ownership of the problem, Philotimo deferred crucial decisions to Tock, resulting in a frustrating deadlock and leaving me, the customer, stranded with no resolution in sight. In summary, Philotimo's partnership with Tock has only magnified its own shortcomings in customer service and communication. Both entities have demonstrated a lack of accountability and professionalism, making them entirely unfit for handling reservations. Steer clear of Philotimo until they address these fundamental issues and prioritize customer satisfaction.Similarly, my experience with Philotimo was soured by its inability to accommodate a cancellation request for a Valentine's Day reservation. Despite my repeated efforts to cancel and the pending charge on my credit card, Philotimo failed to provide any recourse for resolution. This utter disregard for customer needs and refusal to refund my money highlights Philotimo's incompetence and lack of commitment to customer satisfaction.

The overall experience at this restaurant during DC's restaurant week was marred by a significant billing issue, leaving a rather unpleasant taste in the mouths of our group of friends. Despite the enjoyable ambiance and appealing food menu, a miscommunication with the server regarding an additional round of mezzee family-style appetizers turned into a frustrating ordeal.Initially, the server conveyed that the cost for an extra round of mezzee would be $15 for the entire table. However, when the bill arrived, we were shocked to find a charge of $15 per person, totaling $75 for that single round of appetizers. This discrepancy led to a series of arguments with the manager, who initially insisted on the original per-person charge.Despite our spending over $500 at the restaurant, the manager seemed more focused on justifying the extra charge than acknowledging the mistake. After several back-and-forths, she eventually reduced the charge to $15 for the entire table, contrary to what was initially communicated by the server. This unnecessary dispute over an extra $15 left our group feeling undervalued as customers. The manager's refusal to admit the mistake and the insistence on defending the higher charge for the mezzee, especially after the substantial bill we had already paid, left us with a negative impression. Regrettably, this experience has made us reconsider revisiting this restaurant, as the way the situation was handled overshadowed the positive aspects of our visit.
