I stopped by Pitango for dessert, and it definitely hit the spot! đ I tried two flavors: Stracciatella (vanilla with chocolate chips) and Fondente (dark chocolate). I don't usually eat gelato, so I was pleasantly surprised by the creaminess. The service was excellent; I wasnât sure what to choose, but the cashier helped me by offering samples and sharing details about each flavor I tried. One of the chocolate flavors I sampled was incredibly rich and chocolateyâit's water-based and vegan-friendly, which was a first for me! The restaurant was nice, clean, and had indoor seating that could accommodate several people, but I decided to take my treat to go.
Now thatâs legit gelato. I would know as Iâm 1/4 Italian.
I havenât worked from Pitango for a year because the last time I was here, the music was very loud (it was also club / rap which isnât my preferred focus music). I had noise canceling AirPod pros in and still couldnât really hear my meetings well or listen to my own music.
I came here again today to give it another chance and found the music to be a pleasant volume. Iâll be coming here more often! Hope this is a permanent change.

I love the pastries that me and my boyfriend got here! The workers are extremely generous and kind. However, we did place an order through too good to go, and we were quite disappointed at the time for pick up. They should have another option for pick up times because 10 to 11 oâclock is ridiculous especially during a weekday when people have jobs that they need to attend to. Whoever sets this up should have more than one pickup time. One thatâs later for people who enjoy that and one thatâs earlier or simply make pick up sooner that way you would attract more people.
Update: Management just told told a bold faced lie and I donât like liars. I literally spoke to evening employees who said verbatim that they need to stay longer and keep the doors open passed closing to accommodate tgtg orders. Just accept the criticism tastefully next time and move accordingly ?

Un large choix de produits frais (sorbets et biscuits sont mes préférés) et délicieux, tout est fait "maison", et le service est parfait. J'ai essayé plusieurs endroits (Baltimore et DC) et la qualité est identique. Bravo, continuez!
Iâve been coming here for years.
Just went back with my two kids. The gelato was amazing. Nothing has changed. Pistachio has always been a favorite. Was fun to bring our children back to our old favorite gelato place.
The indoor seating is challenging if you are not a work from home person or student wanting to sit for hours on laptop. Minimal seating as everyone seemed to be sitting there working.

I absolutely harass my friends to try Pitango for their gelato and very recently I took my friend in to try it for the first time. She had the pistachio and hazelnut, and I had the bacio biacno (which is absolutely my new personal favorite?). The food wasn't the problem, as both of us had incredibly delicious food given to us, it was the service. Me and my friend were waiting in a rather long line, and as we were finally headed to the register, the hispanic woman making coffee asked an older, taller, white gentleman to help ring us up. He visibly punched the air in anger and walked up to us with the most forced grin and talked through gritted teeth, as if we forced him and he didn't even want to be there. After he served us, he was in such a rush to leave, he completely ignored my friend and walked away while she was asking him a question. Thankfully, the aforementioned barista lady kindly stepped in and offered to help instead. Of course, I believe people have their bad days, but every time I (or customers before and after me, I have noticed) have been serviced by this older gentleman, its the same horrible service. I've been meaning to try the food here (they have samples of focaccia and it was amazing) but I wouldn't want to go back and have to deal with him. Overall, this store is still great, and everyone besides him seem to be very helpful and genuine in their service. ?

Worst gelato Iâve ever had. Gummy. Sweetness overwhelmed any idea of flavor. Over priced if it had been good. Staff nice and helpful.

One of my favorite coffee and gelato spots in Adams Morgan. The coffee is always great, and the atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming. The staff are friendly, making it a perfect place to hang out or get some work done. They are also open on the later side!

Restaurantji Recommends
I ordered âMelanzconeâ sandwich for the first time just to try. but Itâs disgusting and I just left it on the counter after one bite because thatâs not a meal I can eat. I am wondering who eats that. The price for it is not good either, you better go to a Restaurant for the same price and get delicious food.

I originally came here with the intention to get some gelato since I had been craving a cold sweet treat for a while. However, since I hadnât had breakfast I figured a sandwich would satiate my hunger more than gelato.
I asked the cashier what sandwich she thought was best and went with her recommendation of the Red Sandwich. Itâs always nice when restaurant staffâs recommendations end up being top notch, and this was one instance.
My friends ordered a coffee and a lemonade and I stuck to my water bottle from home. However, they accidentally gave my friend an extra coffee; so after a little switcheroo, I ended up with a lemonade (a bit watered down since it was a tad sweet for my taste).
The sandwich was good, but it was cold. I guess I expected it to be warmed but thatâs on my for not checking. You live and you learn. If youâre a warm sandwich fan like I am, ask them to warm it up. With the top notch service theyâve got, Iâve no doubt theyâll do that.
I ended up not getting gelato since my friends and I had to leave before I had a chance to get some. So Iâll be coming back sometime in the future to get a cold scoop and warm sandwich to balance it out.

Such a ripoff. The ice cream was disgusting. Go literally anywhere else for better tasting ice cream that is priced reasonably.

Decent coffee, but their menu has the iced mocha priced at $5, the price is actually $6. Hidden 20% fee.
