Everything was very delicious, but I think the waiter is new and he handled everything absolutely wrong, I ordered an order of tacos and he only took one and we had to wait up to 10 or 12 minutes for our drink if not more!

Me and my wife went up there for our one day together and i was very dissapointed in our experience.. We were seated and no one came to take our order the server checked on the table infront of us and just walked by us i had to stop her which is out of my normal. She took our drink order n because they took to long i had time to look at some apps and i ordered them at the same time as our drinks . The apps came out before our drinks got to the table we were half way done before they got there and their alcoholic drinks taste like there wasnt any spirit in it , no check in between she finally came back we decided to order more food n more drinks the tacos were awful i took a bite and left them and we were just brought the check with 18 percent gratuity on it which i dont feel like anyone deserved it was at that point i realized why service was so bad because they get tipped anyway i am a hispanic server and bar tender myself and tip really well 20 percent or more if its deserved and i know great service and hispanic food when i get it n this was just a disspointing experience for my one day off. For $150 i could have definitely had a better experience else where

This place has so much potential! I’ve been on several occasions trying to give it the benefit of the doubt, but they are EXTREMELY short staffed ESPECIALLY during happy hour. Please get more help with the bar and wait staff. I really want to enjoy this place and make it a regular, but the service is really bad.Parking: Extremely hard to find parking!

This is the worst place I’ve been to in barracks row. No wonder they have rebranded from their other failed restaurantat the same location. Thought I’d give the new place a try but had to walk out before even getting drinks due to the 30+ minute wait on an early weekday evening. Have never done that in a restaurant before but feel the need to warn people and recommend go to Belga next door instead.

I was honestly going to give the place 5 stars across the board because I really enjoyed the nachos, drinks, and service. The atmosphere was nice too, bathrooms were super clean. I was definitely planning on coming back again because they have a great HH. But to my surprise as I’m checking my bank statement I see they took it upon themselves to charge my card an additional $50 on-top of the $70 I already paid, plus I left a cash tip on top of the gratuity. You all are doing a fraud business smh!!! DO NOT PLAY WITH PEOPLES MONEY LIKE THIS.

Don’t waste your time, find a better restaurant on this strip. You will wait forever for service even if they’re dead slow, your food will take forever (it shouldn’t take 35 mins to make tacos when you’re the only person in the restaurant), from the other reviews and my experience you’ll probably see a mouse or two (which based on the area is understood but not combined with the whole experience). Save yourself the headache and go try somewhere else. The drinks are watered down too.

Happy Hour at Playa Ocho Cantina is a good time. The prices are good and they have great music. I was a little disappointed in the strength of the margaritas, but that is to be expected with the happy hour prices I guess ... The tacos and quesadillas were pretty tasty. I wouldn't run home bragging about this place, but if you are in the mood for a happy hour or Mexican food. It's not bad in the Eastern Market area.

What you would expect from the group that ruined Hawk N Dove. Our food took an hour to come out and was edible at best. Who knew grilled peppers could have so little taste? Took several requests to even get chips. Had to scavenge silverware from another table. Then they tack on an 18% service fee for a party of two. Terrible.

beware of false advertising! They clearly advertised $8 margaritas for this date, but when it came time to pay, they charged full price and claimed the promotion was only for happy hour. The sign (which was outside and posted on Instagram) clearly indicates a full-day promotion. We chose this restaurant because of the promotion, and we're a large party with a large tab. We live close by but won't be returning.

Waitress Kelly was rude and made strange remarks about the people at our table.

The food was good but was charged 18% gratuity for myself and my 10 yr old. I don't mind tipping but for and adult an child c'mon. I was going to bring my family here but because of the forced gratuity for two people, I will not do so.

These reviews are insane. DC people complain entirely too much! The food was awesome! The service was great! Went there for happy hour and we had fantastic nachos and drinks. Geez, it's not capital grille or something.

Chips and salsa are $8! That's super lame! Drinks were really expensive too. The tacos were pretty good, but jeez I didn't feel like I got my money's worth.

Definitely would not recommend. For was cooked really well however, establishment is unsanitary and currently experiencing a pest problem. There was several mice citings during my meal. I had ate less than a 5th of what was ordered and elected not to keep eating. After informing the manager he offered a 10% tip! With nearly 85% of the food left, that’s ABSURD. Trust where there is one mouse there are more, PLENTY MORE!! Especially where they are present despite the crowd. There are several business owners who are aware of the pest (rodent) problem in the city and take the necessary steps to PREVENT the problem. Playa Ocho chose “treatment” which was a HUGE mistake for them and their customers ALIKE! DO NOT REVOMMEND!!

This was our first time visiting Playa Ocho Cantina and we were pleasantly surprised. They had good happy hour deals, the service was good, and we enjoyed everything we ordered. We tried the guacamole and salsa, the burrito bowl, and chicken enchiladas. We will be back!
