enjoyed the variety. ordered via doordash, so not sure how that affected the food vs. if we had eaten in the restaurant. we had the sichuan dumplings, mongolian beef and broccoli, and the teriyaki chik’n. overall, it tasted okay Updated from previous review on 2025-12-28

Buddha Bowl $12 roasted cauliflower, sesame ginger cucumber edamame, pickled carrot, tomato and sriracha cashew-peanut crumbles w. miso tahini drizzle - this was a good two meals for me. It was filling with lots of flavors that blended well together.

Wanted to try their fried cashew mozzarella but they were out of mozzarella. Got the Miso Roasted Sweet Potatoes $7 instead. This was good. A bit too much sauce but when mixed was fine.

Would get both items again but would also like to try a bunch of things on their menu.

I visited with a group of 3, and we really enjoyed everything! We each got a regular sized bowl with different vegan proteins and veggies, the sauces are all great and work really well with the different roasted and pickled vegetables. We also got the fried dumplings with Sichuan chili oil which was an amazing appetizer. We also got to talk with John who was super friendly and shared with us some of the philosophy behind Pow Pow. I visit often with my friends, but we wanted to leave a review for the amazing service and consistently great food!

Such a great place! The food, the vibe, and the service were terrific! The menu has so many options too! Our large party was easily accommodated and the attention given to us was much appreciated. We were able to accommodate all tastes and preferences in our party (savory, sweet, meaty, green). I recommend anyone to come and visit POW POW if you like flavorful and beautifully prepared food.

Great options and very tasty food. I got the jackfruit burger. It was a bit of mess to eat because it was dripping in sauce but very tasty

I have been chowing down at Pow Pow for years! Their food is so flavorful and interesting. It's a favorite of my friend group when ordering family-style takeout (including non-vegan friends!). Definitely some of the best plant-based cuisine in DC. The Natalie Porkman, Pow Pow Poutine and cashew mozz balls are my faves, the dumplings are also fire. Good bang for your buck with hearty portions and lots of options. And they're community-centric and kind! ♥️

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Pow Wow on H Street, and I can’t recommend it enough! As a vegan, I’m always on the lookout for innovative plant-based cuisine, and Pow Wow exceeded my expectations.

I tried their vegan sushi, which was an absolute delight! The combination of beets added a refreshing twist, and the flavors were perfectly balanced. I also indulged in a roll featuring vegan shrimp, and it was simply outstanding—definitely one of the best rolls I’ve had in DC!

What made my experience even better was meeting John, the owner. His hospitality was truly exceptional; he took the time to share his passion for the food and the vision behind Pow Wow. It’s clear that he cares deeply about providing a welcoming atmosphere and delicious, sustainable food.

If you’re in Washington DC, especially on H Street, make sure to visit Pow Wow. You won’t be disappointed!

Great food, with cool vegan Asian inspired options. Inside seating was cool, maybe not so much for the bougie vegan..lls.

Pow Pow is such a gift to the vegan community. The food is amazing: the vegan proteins are store made and just fire!

I swear by Mom's Fried Rice and the Dan Dan Noodles.

Met the owner when I visited the restaurant today (first time after years of ordering online). Nice lady!
