I did go here and the best thing. I can say that I could find parking easily on a Saturday afternoon, but this place closes right around lunchtime and because I don't live in the neighborhood. I did not know that. So I had people meet me there. Around quarter of 2 only to have someone a part of the management staff. Come out and say, oh we close at 2 o'clock, did not say we reopened at 5, just that we close at 2. And so I had to, you know, apologize as we laughed standing outside thinking, okay, where do we go now? I may still visit this restaurant because it's a local place and I try to support local businesses. And maybe I'll rewrite something afterwatds.
Love this place always a good vibe great drinks staff and food
This restaurant is šÆ. Yes, it's pricey for the neighborhood. The Nouveau Franco-American cross cuisine is *chef's kiss* š©š½āš³š bien. The owner/managers, SĆ©bastian and Erin, are very kind and welcoming. It is worth the trip to Brookland NE if you're a NW dweller.
The food was SO GOOD. I know that the steak is the star in this plate, but the greens were so well seasoned and tasty that they almost stole the scene. Cozy atmosphere and gentle staff. Great experience, overall.
I enjoyed my culinary experience.
In from out of town and found Primrose. We're definitely glad we did and would recommend.
1) great service from Josh. He had great recommendations and provided us with high quality service.
2) the food was great! We had the following:
- ricotta toast - super yummy
- the porchetta - great flavor
- scallops - perfectly cooked
- gnocchi - wow just wow
- brook trout - yes please
- walnut cookie - perfectly sweet
3) drinks - spot on with the balanced espresso martini.
Overall - highly recommend and would definitely return.

We went as a family. My daughter, her husband, her one week old baby and a 2 yr old toddler. We wanted to have burgers but were told we could not have them outside only at the bar. We told them that would be impossible because of the baby and the toddler and asked them to make an exception but they refused. We ordered other food. A couple at a table next to ours got their order and guess what, burgers and fries!!! The man looked over to us and said he had to beg them to let him have a burger as his part was pregnant and could not sit at the bar. Needless to say I was very annoyed and wondered why we were not made an exception in the same way. Anyway when I went to pay the bill if 131$
( a rip off by the way 3 dishes and no drinks ) the waitress asked if everything was ok knowing full well she refused to serve us the burgers!! I told her I was extremely disappointed in the behaviour of the restaurant to local families (my daughter and family live around the corner) and I was not going to leave a 20% tip or any tip! She was so pathetic just kept saying sorry !!!
So please donāt bother going there. None of the dishes are particularly good.very limited menu. I would not call this a family oriented restaurant even though the area is full of families. There are plenty of other more family friendly places around the area.
Parking: Itās out of town so plenty of parking.

We took a group of 56 students/adults to this restaurant during a 5-day trip to DC. This was hands down our favorite place!! The food was phenomenal. The service was fabulous. If youāre looking for the best pizza of your lifeā¦this is it!!

Went during restaurant week and each course was fantastic. Well-layered flavors and enjoyable textures.
The atrium is beautiful, it's all windows so the natural light is stunning. One note though, there were mosquitoes because they had the windows open. I got at least 7 bites over the course of the dinner. So be aware about that.

Great atmosphere, food and service were fine. They're doing a $55 "Taste of Primrose" menu now that's three courses. I got the ricotta toast, steak, and cornbread. They were all okay, not nothing I would really want to order again. I also did the wine pairing, which I don't think I would do again. They charge a service fee separate from the tip, so the meal ended up being more than anticipated from looking at the menu online (edited for accuracy).

We came here for dinner, had a reservation already but was able to be sat earlier. Food was excellent, just the right portion size for all courses. Husband had gnocchi, I had the steak au poivre. Steak cooked perfectly medium. Asked for one of the cocktails, but ended up not liking it (just not to my taste). They offered to let me try something else, no questions asked. Service was attentive but not overbearing. Very nice. Not from DC, but would go back if it ever happened we were nearby again. Parking was easy for us, nearby parallel parking no issue.

I've eaten dinner here many times and you better believe I'll be back. Something I would like to say after reading some bad reviews is almost all dine-in restaurants in DC have a service charge, whether it's 18% or 20%.
