If you are looking for a quick lunch Proper 21 is a good option. There is plenty of seating so the wait was short. They menu had a bunch of different options so something for everyone. I had the salmon burger that I would highly recommend. The burger has limited filling and great flavor. The restaurant also has TVs so a great option to sit at the bar and watch the game with friends and family.

Tonight was my first time at proper 21 and it was nothing short of amazing. Our server Tia C. was charismatic, and genuine. She took great care of my friend and I. We started our night off at a different spot and didn't have a great experience there. Tia turned our day around we had some great drinks and dessert and left proper laughing. The place was clean and organized staff look happy, and we will definitely be back. I got a card from who I thought was the manager after asking to speak to him (wanting to compliment that staff) and was pleasantly surprised to see that he was the director of ops, it's great to see someone of that level being so involved with the team. This place was great everyone was kind, be sure to ask for Tia!

This is by far the best place in DC to eat and hang out! The birria eggrolls are TO DIE FOR!! I Live in California and I legit fantasize about them regularly. I am lucky enough to work for a company that has an office in DC so I can get my fix every now and then. Everyone is super nice, the ambiance is incredible, they play all the sports, but the food!!!!! oh boy the food!!! I can't get enough of the birria eggrolls, oh my goodness, so good!

Dinner and cocktails were great and the place had a cool vibe. Cameron and another waitress (sorry didn’t get the name!) were amazing. We had a party of 5 and long story short one person had a minor injury, was in some pain, decided to go to an urgent care and their husband went with them. Party of 5 became 3. The team was wonderful about it and quickly adjusted so we could get food for them to go. The rest of our time was great, we loved the food and the chill atmosphere. We’d be happy to return when we’re in DC again.

Careful with this place, they throw things in the menu items and try to gaslight you when you bring it up. They also run out of ingredients and try to get you to buy things when it isn't what you ordered. It happened to us twice in one night. Doubt everything here and you'll be fine.

This place leaves much to be desired and I would not recommend. I came with a group of people for brunch. No one liked their food very much. One person asked for a medium- well steak but it came out medium-rare. Another person ordered a medium cooked burger but it came out fully cooked. The shakshuka doesn’t come with any sort of bread (which is traditionally how it’s served). Another persons chicken and waffles was not pleasant, specifically the chicken. The tea they offered was a teabag from Safeway that looked crumpled up like it came out of someone’s back pocket. On top of this all, they advertise as a sports bar but don’t have sports on the TV. We came to watch a soccer game and eat food but they informed us they don’t have NBC available, which is a popular and ubiquitous TV channel. Ultimately, after plenty of back and forth with the server and manager we were able to screen mirror onto one of the TVs through our phone since someone had the game live on their phone.Ultimately and unfortunately, this place is a no-go for me.The only redeeming quality of this place is the people that served us were nice.

My first time experience at Proper 21 was phenomenal. The food and atmosphere was great, but honestly what made my experience over the top was my server Cam. She went above and beyond to make me feel welcome as a guest at Proper 21. She took care of whatever needs or desires I had requested. She was one of the best servers I've ever had in my 27 years of residing in DC. Thank you Proper 21 for giving me a great dining experience and Cam for going the extra length to satisfy and make me content as a customer.

My fav go to spot for after work! I work in the medical field in the city and it’s hard to find a good food spot with excellent service after a long shift. Me and my coworkers love rolling up after a long shift and treating ourselves to yummy food and drinks!!Shoutout for Morgan for always giving us the sweetest service when we are there !Also double shoutout to the GM Dom! He was so attentive in making sure we were happy during our visits! Def love the vibes in this place. 10/10(Truffle fries are amazingggg, all the apps are perfect)
The restaurant has a lot of potential. The decor is nice. It’s a huge place. It was odd that it was nearly empty on a Saturday night. The noise is insanely loud. Service was great. The tuna wonton nachos was better than the salmon dish. The salad was over dressed but that was our fault for not asking for it on the side. Good spot for a big group.
