Love Red Velvet Cupcakery. When my family stayed in Washington DC for a week for vacation, we stopped at the bakery every night for desert.

Cupcake menu. I’ve only tried two so far but B-Day was my fave.

I pre-ordered a dozen cupcakes for an event—only to have Red Velvet cancel the order 36 hours before the celebration. The explanation given was ‘they couldn’t fulfill the order,’ but it’s hard to understand why a cupcake shop wouldn’t have a dozen cupcakes available, especially when ordered well in advance.Very disappointing since Red Velvet Cupcakery is specifically what the guest of honor requested instead of a traditional cake.PS Also surprised to see significantly fewer flavors on the menu than in years past, when the Chinatown location was still open.
Don't trust them! They canceled the night before my daughter's birthday a ore- scheduled order.

Yummy cup cakes me like only issue is that I had a weird encounter with one of the employees
Very good bakery! I really loved the red velvet cupcake! The staff is very friendly and it’s clean in here. Will be back again!
One of the best cupcakes in DC, lots of variety and top flavors
There cupcakes taste like what exactly it says. Flavor full, rich, tasty . The red velvet was the best I have ever had and the frosting makes it complement well brings the flavors all together

I was hestitant based on the reviews but I can't let reviews sway my opinion on whether I am going to like a place or not. These cupcakes are amazing. My husband bought half and dozen and every cupcake was satisfying. They were moist and dense. I especially love their frosting because it is how I make my frostings. I will definitely come here again.
Just had the worst saddest cupcakes ever from Little beast serving Red Velvet cupcakes. Flat, hard, crusty and made with hate, not love. Quality has gone into a dumpster fire. How was this even passable as a cake that someone applied frosting to!?!
Yesterday, I called and asked if I were to pick up a dozen cupcakes at 3pm, would they still be fresh and good for my daughter-in-law’s birthday dinner, tonight— to which the woman I spoke with, said, “Yes.” Tonight, we opened the boxes and passed them around and found them to be hard and stale. We are very disappointed. We paid almost $50 for 12 cupcakes that no one liked— even my 4-year old granddaughter wouldn’t finish hers. ?
Drove all the way here in the rain it was 8pm and was turned away because they were no longer selling cupcakes. They should consider changing their hours if they aren’t offering cupcakes till closing.
Very good. I was mixed about the reviews I saw regarding them. But the red velvet, coconut, vanilla bean, and cake ones were actually very tasty. Some people like lighter cupcakes and some like a heavier cake. Theirs are more cakes, but still great. I suggest warming them before eating ?
