The food and ambience are fun. Desserts are amazing. The servers are very nice. But I’ve been here multiple times with friends who have made reservations, then when we get to the restaurant they do not have the reservation and they are rude about it. It’s very frustrating.
Vegetarian options: Lots of veggie and vegan options.

Ate here twice and absolutely loved it, from the cosy atmosphere to the kind waiters and waitresses to the super tasty food for a not too high price, definitely recommend

Given the reviews, I drove 40 min to try this place. The guy who greeted people at front was nice.
However, food wasn't even average. It was not fresh, not hot, and had 0 seasoning. Tasted like nothing with a can of unseasoned tomato sauce added. I was very thankful on not having wasted extra money purchasing sides for an already expensive entree (which wasn't even good). Taste could be greatly improved, if by nothing else, than to simply add salt and pepper to the food.
Guacamole was too lime-y. I imagine it was the case to stretch the pulp of an avocado as thinly as possible. Chips were slightly above average.
Parking is street parking and a headache.
Won't return.

Can’t say enough good things about the folks at Republic Cantina! Truly exceptional service that left me a full-fledged convert (shoutout to Brandon, who went waaay above and beyond to fix a DoorDash snafu that wasn’t the restaurant’s fault!). The food is amazing, too. Can’t wait to go back!

The Brisket and egg tacos on the breakfast menu are delicious but the service could use a lot of work. There’s a male that works in the mornings with the most nonchalant, unhelpful attitude that is truly distasteful and very concerning. Not sure if I would return based on the customer service as is no matter how good the food is.

I mean... I'm from Texas, and we tried this place expecting it to be mediocre at best, but it was INCREDIBLE. probably the best fajitas I've ever had in my life, and the queso and margaritas were great too.

We were visiting DC from Texas and we've been burned before by so called "Tex Mex" restaurants, but this one is a true gem. You want authentic Tex Mex, definitely hit this place. Frozen margaritas, great queso, fajitas were so tender and delicious. I'd give more than 5 stars if I could. Great atmosphere, great service. You gotta go.

We visited on a Friday night and had an amazing time. The food & drinks were great, everything came to the table quickly. Our server was sweet and knowledgeable about the menu. The restaurant’s aesthetic is fun and it's tucked away in a quiet part of the city. We had the birria tacos, enchiladas, spicy & regular margaritas, street corn and tres leches cake. They also have a late-night happy hour during the weekend called “outlaw hour”- so cute! Everything was great and we look forward to coming back soon.

This place hits the spot for brunch (and other meals I assume) - we had great service and the food/drinks were excellent. I got the jesucristo sandwich and would highly recommend! Looking forward to coming back soon

A little out of the center in a pleasant area, very pretty setting, whether inside or outside. Smiling welcome. Brunch-style weekend lunch menu. Good guacamole. Good beer. Fair price. A good address!

We frequent Republic Cantina - definitely one of the best places to eat in DC if you want authentic Mexican food - such a vibe off the main strip - the margs and tacos are fire - and the team is always so friendly! Do yourself a favor and check it out whether you’re a local or visitor - for a special occasion or casual dinner.
