The restaurant must be under a different management. The appeal that is previously had is lost. Areas built out to accommodate more tables which makes it less stylish and boutique like. Mediocre food, OK customer service, and the covered outdoor space is not Insulated to be considered heated. We had dinner last night and almost froze.
Caution - wear lots of layers for covered outdoor space. Some area are warm, some areas not so much!
Words cannot explain how amazing the food and ambiance are at Residents. This is definitely my go-to restaurant when hosting clients or enjoying a brunch with friends. The cocktails are out-of-this-world.
The servers go out of their way to provide an experience unlike any other restaurant in DC. From the patio to the indoor seating - this place makes you feel like you are in an international resort.

Despite the service issues, the quality of the food somewhat compensates for the shortcomings. It’s a place worth visiting for the cuisine, but be prepared for inconsistent service. In every aspect, the experience was disappointing. The restaurant inside and out was cold, the table next to us was complaining about their meal when we sat down, and our server was obviously not having a good night. In fact, a hostess called us after we had been sat for 30 minutes asking if we were still planning on coming, and that she was glad she checked or we would be charged a $25 no show fee for our reservation. The food was okay, but not worth the $174 for 2 people and 1 drink each with automatic 20% gratuity. It took 15 minutes to get a glass of wine from the bar when the restaurant was 1/3 full - if that. Even the bathrooms were messy. We were excited to try a new restaurant with good reviews, but after our experience, we will not be coming back.

We had a wonderful evening at Residents Cafe & Bar. The service was superb. Drinks amazing,and food was very tasty! Our sever Brandon and bar staff top of the line professional and delightful. A must go to in DC! You will not be disappointed!

Food was delicious especially the seared halibut. The sauce with the cauliflower bites was a bit weird like just mayonnaise? Short rib was nice. Profiteroles were yummy. Could’ve used a bit more colour in the dishes - everything was brown. Nice atmosphere - our table was tiny and wobbly. Service was good except the lady at the front desk was a bit rude.
Just tried this restaurant for the first time this weekend and loved it! The service was amazing, starting with the manager Brandon who greeted us when we walked in. He also checked in on us during the meal to make sure everything was going well. He’s very friendly and professional. The food was all amazing, and you don’t want to miss the espresso martini. I heard it was voted best in DC and I’m not surprised to hear that! Highly recommend this restaurant for a girl’s night out or date night.

This place is quite the experience! I really enjoyed the food and the drinks were one of a kind! My favorite thing about this restaurant is that they really focus on your senses.. Visually, the plating is impeccable, Aroma.... we had a cocktail that had a piece of a small corn with chili on top... when you drink the corn fashioned... its completely a different experience with and with out the garnish! I would recommend to try it both ways.. Sound.. The music was nice, didn't feel basic it was a nice Spanish beat. Taste - YUM everything was so good, the octopus was 10/10! and the Cauliflower nuggets is something you don't want to miss out on... my partner tried the short rib... and his mind was blown!!! Service was great, the waiter mentioned he was fairly new, but he did a great job! Shout out to the Chef that came out and greeted us. Great experience!

We went for a couple post dinner drinks. The espresso martini is top notch. Would go back just for that. Also an amazing French 75 and a great elderflower Prosecco cocktail. Funny bartenders, chill vibe. Can’t get better than that.
