Really tasty quesadillas and tacos! Sauces are also delish; nice heat on the hot sauce. A very, very nice server brought everything over and checked on us a few times. It’s nice to support a family owned business. We will definitely be back, and next time we’ll try the birria tacos!

Looking for legit Mexican food in DC? Go to Ruben’s! No offense to District Taco and Surfside Tacos, but coming from LA, I was very disappointed with those options. Chipotle is fairly basic. And I’m not a big fan of any Mexican fusion spot (not naming names). But Ruben’s is authentic and hits the spot. Highly recommend!

Some of the most authentic Mexican flavor I have found in DC.Tried the birria tacos and it's a 10/10, way better than the posh Mexican restaurants in the area and at a much better price.The service was really good, they were very attentive and kind.Even the music they play makes you feel like México.PS: The sauce is spicy but it feels a bit generic, like something you would find in the store, maybe a salsa asada would better fit the menu, but I understand they may need to sacrifice some authenticity for the local's taste.

Step into this tucked away Mexican joint for a great atmosphere, plenty of bar seating, an easy ordering system, and delicious food.We stepped in for their $2 Taco Tuesday deal and were presented with delicious food! Portions were larger than anticipated, and the sauce options were excellent! Staff were super friendly and helpful, and I’m excited to come back again :)Gracias por el servicio increíble!

NEVER GOING BACK! I went to this establishment and ordered a steak burrito and steak quesadilla. The total came up to $29.74, in which they charge me extra for steak for both items. The price is not the issue here, it is the quality of the food. The burrito was 5 inches long and the quesadilla was the size of a baby's fist. I was shocked because seeing the quesadilla in the wrapped foil package, I thought it was a slice of bread, honestly, I would've preferred that. The meat was not seasoned and the ingredients were basic and there was no Mexican flavors in anything. The disappointment in both was real. I would have rather gone to Taco Bell. You will never catch me here again and trust me, you are NOT missing anything.
