I came here on a business trip to DC in 2018. Had some traditional Russian food. I was born in Russia and my parents still cook Russian food when I'm back home. The restaurant's food matches up well to the real deal with a modern flair. It's not just home food served in a restaurant. All of that being said, I feel disheartened that some ignorant people from DC (of which there are plenty) decided it was ok to vandalize this place. I was born in Russia, but my dad was born in the Ukraine and we still have family there. Both sets of grandparents were born in the Ukraine as well. I'm absolutely sure that the majority of Russians do not support this war, that number only goes up for Russians living in Europe or in America. So, I decided to leave a review. This restaurant treated me well, and I will treat it well.

Great restaurant. It's crazy to punish an American company just because the business serves Russian food.

Boo. Businesses in Washington DC have opened up …like come on Russia house it is 2022 January why are you still temporary closed? Is it because you are short staffed ? Then that is not an excuse. Because there are many people who need a job now in the hospital Industry who want to work…. Also Because our city have opened up fully , Our mayor has said that! Dc is back ! so please step up your game …I am a fan but because of THIS ! I may not be a fan anymore of Russia house.RUSSIA HOUSE IS NOT MARCH 2020 anymore.

Been to The Russia House twice, had the Beef Stroganov both times and loved it both times. Impressive array of vodkas and quality levels, including some from places I didn't even know made vodka. Very upscale interior for either dining or sipping high quality vodka with friends while listening to Russian music.

The restaurant was recently renovated and moved to the ground floor... no more stairs

Great experience at this restaurant. I have lived in DC my whole life and this was my first time. My coworkers and I went here for dinner and we all loved everything that we ordered. The music playing was a mix of russian-like club/lounge music so it gets you feeling energized and makes it a fun vibe in there. Its not overwhelming so you can still talk and hear each others conversation. The waiter and waitress seemed pretty reliable and made sure we had everything we ordered. The establishment itself was nice and clean. I would definitely come back here again. Thank you Russia House!

Just popped in for a drink - the house red, an excellent fruity Georgian number - and despite the fact they had clearly just opened, the staff were warm and friendly, and made me feel right at home. The restaurant is lovely inside with lots of fun and interesting touches of mother Russia.

Bad experience. We ordered "Kiev" and it came undercooked. The chicken inside was pink. We told the lady that it was undercooked and she promised they would cook another one for us within 15 minutes. They brought another one in 20-25 minutes which also was undercooked. We took it off the check and left. Disappointing. Would give that restaurant a zero.

Me and my boyfriend went 02.29.2020 to Russia house in DC and it was our last visit to this restaurant. Our server was probably some Russian girl, she was very mean to us. We had to wait for drink 30 minutes and then food didn't come how we ordered so we asked her to call manager and instead of apology from manager (also some Russian guy) he starts argue with us. If you want to spend time in some nice restaurant please don't go to Russia House.

Staying at nearby Hilton and went for a great dinner. It was expensive but nobody forced me to order the caviar with a flight of imported vodkas. Delightful way to start dinner. Duck two ways was also a stand out. Friendly efficient server and I went home thinking I got my money’s worth

Food is true to Russian standards customer service was great prices are high. They are remodeling and the upstairs is no longer an option:( The "Red Army" drink is dangerous-- lol I could drink one of those daily if my liver would allow it. It's in a great location however, parking is typical DC expensive and hard to get.

Well this place screams Russia through and through!! My Brother suggested this place when I was visiting Washington D.C., and I'm glad he did! Note: we only stopped in for a drink, we didn't eat....so I can't speak for the food. I'm more of a Bourbon girl, but when in Rome, you must taste Russian Vodka!! We shared a flight...most of it was picked out by our server...who knew A LOT ABOUT VODKA! I was shocked, I have never been able to drink vodka straight(not even the good stuff)...and this vodka was amazing!!! I have actually ordered a couple of bottles of the vodka I tried there for my personal home bar, so I can impress my friends! I would go back!
