I love the zoo! Parking was $30. The kids (and adults) were so excited to explore around. We had such a great time and learned so much. Employees around the park are awesome! They do a great job keeping the zoo as organized as possible. Everyone was so friendly, helpful, and patient. The ladies at the gift shop had a great sense of humor and we really enjoyed our conversation. Restrooms are located all around the zoo and are quite clean. I love how accessible activities are in DC! No cost to get into the zoo. Easy and well maintained walkways to get to different exhibits. My favorite were the pandas! I recommend going when weather is a bit warmer - you'll have better chances of catching all the animals. Lots of parking but that does cost money. You can reserve a parking online or pay on the spot. Can also easily get there by metro.

This is a food option in the National Zoo. As one might expect, there was a big line at lunch and it was marked up, but they did a good job trying to keep it moving. There is also apparently an order ahead line around the side, which I did not find out about until after we had already waited in the long line to order and got our food. They have XL cheese and pizza slices, plus some drinks and sides. We opted for the cheese pizza, which was enjoyed.
