The Food was better when it was The Golden Skillet!!! Don't get me wrong, the atmosphere of the Felicia Woodridge Kitchen was very low-key and chill. The Hostess/ Cashier was very nice and has good customer service.
I just wish the taste quality of the food reflects that..I have to be honest with my review!!!!
Soul Food without proper seasoning just doesn't sit well with me..Cooks definitely need to be experienced and know why it's called soul food in the first place.. because of flavor and seasoning. Also, let me give y'all a Soul Food 101 lesson, baked macaroni and cheese is exactly what the name says; Baked like a pie. Not loose like it's Kraft!!😩😩😩😩😩
Plus, it's just Overpriced for no reason at all!! I give this place a hard Pass!!! Hopefully, they will improve in the flavor and preparation of the food.. But for now; Meh!!!!!!

Nasty ! Don’t come here !!! I bought two piece whiting with two sides and a kids meal for damn near $30. The mash potatoes are gross and sweet and the Mac is inedible. Everything has a random sweetness to it. Not to mention a 6 piece chicken nugget kids meal is $12 . Not worth the wait or my money.

The pictures depicted did not reflect the food we received. The person that was at the register was not very helpful at all. We asked for recommendations being that it was our first time there and she didn't reply. Not sure if that was because she didn't hear me or just truly didn't have an answer. I was not satisfied with the service or food. I ordered gumbo, it's more of a spicy soup, definitely not gumbo. I ordered fried pork chops and it appeared that they were fried in corn meal. This was not a good dining experience for me.

False advertising: wings and wingettes are not the same. They were over cooked, salty, and not much on the flavor that I picked. First and last time there. Overly priced IMO!

Horrible service from the “OWNER” No professionalism or class and the place has roaches. The only thing I wanted from here was the gumbo but after I heard they don’t toss the the food out that’s contaminated they just scoop it out no thank you!

I wasn't a fan of the Mac& Cheese or sweet potato pie but the greens, fried liver, and chicken wings were definitely good. You get your bang for your buck. Soul Kitchen is takeout only no dine-in. The prices are average. Parking not to bad. The location made it easy to find the restaurant because it was on the corner. Customer service was ok. Y'all, everything is hand made and fresh, not from cans. I seen one of the cooks cutting up some fresh green beans. I will be back because the menu looks good.
