I was being treated to a sandwich. i asked for Turkey on rye with coleslaw. Simple, I thought. Had to repeat it 3 times as the woman on the phone kept saying something different. Also said she couldn't put the coleslaw on the sandwich; we had to buy it at a half pound on the side and do it myself.Sure enough the sandwiches come back and it's a sandwich with sprouts, tomato, bacon and guacamole on stale rye bread.Ugh ?

This place is fantastic! Loved the local vibe, with people stopping in to grab ingredients for dinner. You know the place is good when you see chefs shopping there! The sandwiches are huge, filling, and mouth watering. I had the grinder and it was definitely one of the best sandwiches I've ever had- perfect amount of heat, fresh veggies, delicious deli meats, all heaped on to flavorful bread. Definitely worth checking out- bring your appetite or plan on either having leftovers or sharing!

Love going to Stachowski's and share a pastrami sandwich. Totally recommend this place for delicious take out. We took our meals and ate at the local park.

Small yet loaded spot with options and a friendly and informative staff. They make the sandwiches fresh and fairly promptly which end up being absolutely delicious and packed full, exactly what a deli sandwich should be. I have tried the dip, pastrami, and a couple others and all are amazing. Beware though that the sandwiches are sizable (I love that personally but you might want to split one with another person or just space it out), when I first got mine I was pleasantly surprised by the heft. I always make sure to make a stop if I'm in the area and highly recommend.

Best pastrami sandwich I've had. Lots of juicy, flavorful pastrami between three slices of rye. Fantastic meat to bread ratio for those that love meat. Girlfriend thinks there's too much meat but she's wrong. Potato salad was phenomenal. Will be back for more!

Great quality, super friendly staff and the pastrami sandwich will change your life. Parking is a bit of a pain but worth the hassle

I traveled from Northwest DC downtown to Georgetown to try this deli. I asked for the grinder sub and a club sandwich. I asked for the sub to be on the softest sub roll they had. They ended up putting my sub on four slices of bread meaning two (2) sandwiches. I Did not like that. Maybe someone would it should've check with me before they prepared my order, as I was standing right there. I Will not be back.

One of the best sandwich shops in DC! Be warned: they're gigantic so you could easily split or be prepared to save for leftovers. Highly recommend !!!!

Great selection of unique grocery needs, but the sandwiches are next level. Massive portion sizes (not cheap, but worth every penny). Great staff. I'll go out of my way to treat myself to sandwiches here. Especially the dipped Italian Beef, the pastrami, and the Italian grinder.

I really liked this place. Their sandwiches are huuuge and very tasty. Great cuts of meat too.Unfortunately, they are dog friendly. The last time I went someone brought in their huge dog (definitely not a service dog). Given the placement of food, it definitely was not sanitary. I’m grossed out. The shop isn’t big inside and there were quite a few people. Not a good place for dogs. Staff were 100% OK with the dog in the shop. Unless they change their policy to not allow dogs (and enforce it), I will not go back.If you are OK with the risks related to dog hair and having a dog lick food in the shop, I highly recommend.

ordered a Turkey Pot pie for pickup last night. It was delicious, and easily enough for three people.

Pastrami sandwich was good. Costly ($20+ for sandwich), but it was a mountain of meat. The meat had good flavor, but the balance of fat to meat was off. Definitely not like Katz in NYC, which is way better.

Okokok -- this looks like a beautiful sandwich and, it is. It looks like Katz's amd I got fired up to eat it. Buuuut it was just soooooo fatty. Mustard was great, the bread was great (appreciate the extra piece to keep the sandwich together) but the meat was just a bit grisly for my liking. And I am happy to pay 20 bucks for a sandwich! Otherwise, this place has tons of great food, produce, pierogies, artisan sausages (I got the merguez and chicken cramberry...) and it is the only place I have seen that sells peroshki (which my heritage appreciates...)

The Italian sandwich is an untoasted small grocery hotdog bun, 4 pieces of slimy overcooked pepper slices and a split italian that lacked any seasoning or at the very least salt and pepper. I see pictures of the other sandwiches but frankly after my first sad-wich, it’ll be my last. $9 waste of money.
