Amazing quality sushi and excellent value! One of the only places in DC that gives 8 pieces of sushi per roll. The rice is so soft and tender and the fish is FRESH. Can't wait to go back!

I ordered 3 portions of salmon sashimi and a portion of kampachi. Salmon was very fresh and fatty but the kampachi was kinda fishy and not really fresh as I expected. I also order a eel avocado roll which was okay. The bill came out almost 55 bucks without tips which was kinda pricy for the amount of food that I get, understandable that I only get sashimi mainly but they should have the combo for salmon only will be more economical for a salmon lover like me. The menu is not really diverse in rolls and there’s not much to choose from.
The server he was nice and considerate.
The atmosphere was ok.

Not very crowded around dinner time on a weekday so the food came out fairly quickly! It was great and in a very convenient location.

From the outside, this spot looks unassuming. The restaurant itself is small and unpretentious with just a handful of tables and an omakase bar. I went in for lunch- you order by checking off items from a menu like at a dim sum spot. The flavors were so simple and delicious! The fish tasted fresh, had beautiful color, and was amazing! Will definitely be back.

Amazing sushi!!! We came for lunch and it was delicious. The service was great and the staff were very attentive. Everything was so tasty and fresh. It’s small so definitely recommend reservations but it was great. The matcha ice cream was a great dessert as well!

Sushi Capitol is one of our favorites. We’ve loved Chef Nakata from back to the Ogawa days, and always have a great meal here. The fish is super fresh and delicious.

Stopped here for a bite after a capital tour and me and my girlfriend loved the salmon and avocado roll, literally melted in our mouths and it was fantastic. The outside isn't very pleasing but it's not terrible and the inside seemed very nice though. We also had a great customer experience, they're very kind and helpful!

Recommend requesting the sushi counter for omakase, bring your own sake if desired. Fish quality is excellent and the chef is talented.

Best value ($100/pp) for omakase sushi in the District! Friendly service, impeccably fresh fish, imaginative preparations. No alcohol license but the liquor store next door has a large sake’ and soju selection and BYOB is welcome.
Get the omakase (still a great deal at $100 per person) and sit at the counter if you can. They are BYOB now with a liquor store next door that has a solid beer selection and a few chilled bottles of white & rose.

Maybe it was a bad batch but I ordered three rolls (yellow tail, tuna and salmon) and the fish smell was strong. I’ve ordered plenty of sushi in my life, and this didn’t seem right. Again, maybe a off night but I certainly didn’t want to chance it and threw away my entire $50 order.
