Recommend requesting the sushi counter for omakase, bring your own sake if desired. Fish quality is excellent and the chef is talented.

Best value ($100/pp) for omakase sushi in the District! Friendly service, impeccably fresh fish, imaginative preparations. No alcohol license but the liquor store next door has a large sake’ and soju selection and BYOB is welcome.

Get the omakase (still a great deal at $100 per person) and sit at the counter if you can. They are BYOB now with a liquor store next door that has a solid beer selection and a few chilled bottles of white & rose.

Maybe it was a bad batch but I ordered three rolls (yellow tail, tuna and salmon) and the fish smell was strong. I’ve ordered plenty of sushi in my life, and this didn’t seem right. Again, maybe a off night but I certainly didn’t want to chance it and threw away my entire $50 order.

The very smallest 8 piece (2 were tamago) $30 charashi bowl I've ever seen in my life, more like a $9 sashimi appetizer. NEVER AGAIN Sushi Capital!!!

Sashimi very good, sushi mediocre (fish tasted less fresh). Miso soup nothing special. Only take out from menu, to eat in restaurant set meal at $100 per head. Zero effort made in decor.

Simple, delicious, and expertly prepared sushi. I’m very particular about where I get sashimi, and this place was great. But recently portion sizes are half what they used to be at same price. Feel cheated as a long time customer. Too expensive now.

Had to make a reservation and only offered $100 omakase. Was really excited to try it but led to disappointment and a wasted trip.

Great sushi for a very reasonable price! It's an intimate ambiance, nothing fancy. Sushi chefs know what they are doing. Would come back here any day :)

BYOB.Astonishingly good fish. Some of the best imaginable. The chef opened with cuts of fatty tuna that would be the star at a different restaurant. And the price extremely reasonable for what you get. 6 stars. That said, a little wall art would go a long way for ambience. For now, just focus on the fish.

Okay, I was recommended by my brother who was a resident here for a while, and I should of visited last year when I was here for work! I'd recommend doing the complete experience with their tasting! Chef and staff were very professional and the tasting was God Given... expensive but well worth every penny... so much I order two more O'Toro and Uni and the market price was well worth it! Must stop and have a meal... I'll be there one more time before I leave! Thank you!

Came here to dine in on a Wednesday evening in April 2023, and we were the only ones in there except for a handful of people ordering sushi to go. They only have their $100 omakase option for dine-in and they remind you of that as soon as you walk in the door so there would absolutely no confusion. The sushi was fresh and delicious. I wish I wrote down what we had but I especially enjoyed the scallop with truffle salt and the uni. DC is generally abysmal when it comes to sushi -- prices are high for low quality fish -- but I find Sushi Capitol to better than the majority of the sushi places here, including some of the higher end places. If I lived closer to the area I would be back for takeout every week. Their website is down but they're still open for business. Another pro - BYOB with no corkage fee, so pop on over to the liquor store next door for sake!

My husband and I visited this place today and food was so good! I'm Japanese and my husband is American and we both love it. We tried Omakase and it was great deal. We are here for a trip and would love to visit here when we come back to the city!! とっても美味しかったです。ごちそうさまでした!
