My salad smelled. I then found a bug in my food. When I went back to report the issue there was no desire to figure out what was contaminated. I indicated that I figured the kale was sour, I was told that wasn’t possible: I asked them to smell the salad because it would be clear it was stale. I was told the issue was “odd”. I got a refund, but was told I’d have to come back to the store if the refund didn’t come through. I won’t be returning for food. And I hope to see my refund in a reasonable time.

I ordered from Sweetgreen for the first time after seeing ads for the Korean BBQ salad. While I was excited to try it, I was pretty disappointed overall. With delivery fees, my total came to nearly $30—which is fine if the experience matches the price. Unfortunately, my order arrived without any kind of seal on the salad or the delivery bag.
In today’s delivery climate, sealed packaging is a basic standard for food safety and peace of mind. It made me very uneasy wondering what could’ve happened during transit. It made me so uncomfortable that I couldn’t bring myself to eat the salad. I won’t be reordering for this reason. It’s a shame because the salad looked amazing but, the lack of care in delivery is a dealbreaker for me.

Angie was rude and unprofessional. She spoke too quietly under loud music and background noise, and when I politely asked her to repeat herself, she responded with a nasty attitude.

Love sweetgreen but if you can avoid this location, absolutely do that. If they’re not serving you hard rice, they’re forgetting an item. If they’re not forgetting an item, they’re delaying your order. It’s literally always something.
This location is consistently disappointing. Several times the rice has been undercooked and crunchy and the chicken is not cooked well. Despite there being not a huge line or many patrons, there is only ever one staff member doing in person and mobile orders creating delays and long wait times. I am a loyal patron of both the Mount Vernon and Foggy Bottom locations and have not experienced these issues there.

For many years I've supported Sweetgreen, especially my 601 Massachusetts Ave NW store in DC. But today you get a bad review. I've worked in customer care and the food industry, so I know what's important for LOYAL CUSTOMERS. I order my go too meal Miso Salmon and you give me a dry hard salmon. old rice that was hard and old sweet potato. COME ON! That's lazy. I get it. End of the evening just about to close and the food was sitting out all day. BUT THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE!!! I get all the way home, mouth watering and this is it??? You get the 1 star for service because you have no number for anyone to call the store directly. You have a different number for every store and its all the same bot. Thats the worst!!! And that's what set me off, because I know a human would have gladly accommodated me. I would've drove back to the location for good customer service. But that's not what you're trying to provide by not having a legitimate contact number. My order number is 194138953 from the 601 Massachusetts Ave NW location in DC.
