Nice place for a business breakfast. Cozy intimate tables, lots of single diners. The herb omelette is absolutely delightful and the cinnamon sugar donut worth the indulgence. Get one. I find it challenging to give any place with lukewarm tea high marks, so that was my downer. Service was fine, not very attentive or remarkable but we were able to get what we needed.Vegetarian options: The breakfast memu is predominantly vegetarian with meat options to add on.

Came here with some friends visiting DC. I absolutely LOVED the vibe in this place - very historical, eclectic, and classy. There was interesting artwork on the wall and the inside was much larger than I was anticipating. We opted the main dining room when you first walk in because the patio was a bit chilly, and the vibe was great. I got the chicken, and to be honest I kind of wish I would have gotten something else because I don't love bone-in chicken that much. One hidden tip - the burger is not on the menu, you have to ask for it, but a couple of my friends got it and said it was fantastic. This place was great!

A miserable experience. Terrible service, bland food. 2 stars because the interior is quaint.

This was a delightful and cozy place, with groaning wooden floor, metal framed oil paintings, dimly-lit medieval tavern vibes. I only wish I had gone here for a drink with friends instead of a laid-back breakfast! The food was great: the omelette was creamy and fluffy, and the house-made potato chips were so unlike anything I've had before. Sugary doughnuts with cream cheese for $2 each; a jug (not just one cup!) of black coffee for $4... everything here was really reasonably priced, too. Finally, the service was quick and polite: I went on a weekday morning, so it was probably really easy to nail the service, but I felt taken care of all the same.

Beautiful hidden gem in DC. Great ambiance in the indoor/outdoor room with the sky lights, sculpture art, and vines drooping down along the brick walls. The food was great, amazing $2 doughnuts that come out piping hot from the oven with a satisfying sweet cream sauce. High quality dishes that have enough to fill you up, but make you want to come back again for more. Will be back and be making this spot a regular.

Came to have a Sunday brunch with two of my friends about a month ago. Love the vibe and aesthetic of the place, it feels very comfortable and cozy. My friend recommended we try the Tabard donut since it's well known, so we each ordered one for an appetizer before the food. Our server was very nice and let us know that he loved the tabard donut and that it was a great selection. I also ordered the buttermilk pancake stack and a side of sausage. When the tabard donut came I took one bite and realized why they're highly recommended. Delicious!! So glad I decided to try. The buttermilk pancakes were delicious and sweet, but the sausage wasn't really to my liking personally. There was nothing wrong with it, but I wasn't crazy about it. One thing I will say is that I feel that the tables are a bit small, at least the table for 3, since there were different pieces of silverware and other items on the table. It felt crowded, especially since my two friends are larger men. Additionally, there were little flowers on each table and I quickly realized that I was allergic to them so not an ideal time to start sniffling. The bill came out to $25 + tax and tip for me. I do think the side sausage is a little on the expensive side for a smaller portion, but I was happy to pay the $8 to try something new.

Came for the famous donut and was welcomed by an incredibly kind hostess and waiters. We had no reso, four people, and it was a rainy day in DC. Nevertheless, Tabard Inn welcomed us with open arms - made space in the living area, explained why they couldn't turn on the fireplace (which was very reasonable!), and warmly brought us out donuts and didn't rush us. Thank you for a lovely rainy day treat!

A truly lovely time! Opted for Tabard after my usual go-to in Chinatown went takeout only, and was not disappointed. The food was fresh, the mocktails were delicious, and the atmosphere was quite warm and romantic - perfect for our date night. Service was phenomenal, the outdoor heater above our table on the upper floor patio kept us warm during our meal (and they even offered us blankets if we were too cold, which was super sweet) and while we opted not to get desert, the after dinner coffee was strong and delicious. Highly recommend for a lovely little date night in DuPont Circle.

I had no idea this place was so good! The cocktails were amazing - especially the savory Sakura special seasonal cocktail. It's not often you find a perfectly balanced savory cocktail like this. The food:We loved the onion tart, oysters, and hamachi crudo appetizers. Also the bread service with the porcini butter - holy smokes!!! We paid for a second serving of that. For entrees we loved the scallops, chicken, and pork chop.Dessert faves were the semifreddo and soufflé cheesecake.Ambience:I was surprised by how cute and quaint this place was. The lounge could probably use an update but the main dining room was beautiful.

It's charming, scuffed in places, but so are you and so am I. this space, place, and collection of talent is deeply special, unique, and precious. For those not requiring the flash in the pan newness of trends, this is the place to be.

I have been here a few times in the past several years. We visited last evening and the experience was just ok. The service was good, the beverages were as well. The food was average. We had a large group and ordered several things on the menu. A couple Of us, including myself, had the steak. A $52.00 New York strip. I've had better $20.00 steaks. Warning, if you serve a steak with brown gravy, you are hiding something. The ambiance is quaint and historic. I have found much better in the area. I was told they had a new chef, perhaps that was the issue, or just a bad day.
