Dear Tatte,
I just wanted to say happy holidays and to thank you for opening a location in Crystal City (Arlington, VA). The staff and managers are exceptional. I enjoy having a local bakery/coffee shop I can walk to and loose myself in a book or anything really. It's a roomy location, well-designed and welcoming. It has become my home away from home.
I'd avoid this place if you are looking for fresh food. we decided to try this place out after doing our tourist thing. it looks really nice, but dammmmm looks are so deceiving. it just felt like everything has been carted in and just sitting on display, hoping someone buys it... we all had a few bites, before leaving the rest of the food for rubbish. not worth it at all.

Tatte Bakery & Cafe | Farragut Square provides a pleasant atmosphere with a good selection of pastries, light bites, and beverages. The almond croissant was tasty and fresh, while the pistachio croissant was unique and satisfying. The blackberry pavlova was enjoyable, and the airy, whipped cream cheese and mousse desserts are tempting options. The menu includes a reliable choice of coffee and tea, and the ham and cheese croissant sandwich is a popular light bite. The café provides a convenient, lively setting typical of a bustling urban spot, with fast-paced, moderately crowded seating and orders placed at the counter.
This location is known for its shakshukas, with perfectly runny eggs, and they serve delicious, fresh salads. The interior is bright and sunlit, creating a comfortable environment for a quick coffee or a leisurely snack. Some customers have noted that staff interactions can vary. The staff was super friendly and helpful, and April at the register was fabulous. Demarcus gives the best suggestions. The coffee drinks were outstanding; the cold brew was fantastic. Their desserts are absolutely amazing—especially the lemon tart and tiramisu. The pistachio latte, honey halva latte, and the white peach mint tea were delicious and unique. It is a great spot to enjoy a relaxing afternoon sitting outside, with great food and great drinks. However, some pastries are not fresh, and a pistachio croissant was stale. Prices are on the premium side, and some find it unacceptable to be asked for a tip when ordering at the cash register.
