Tea was decent but food was so disappointing.

Absolutely delightful spot for tea and lunch. I've never had any drinks or foods here that I didn't thoroughly enjoy. I could complain that the creme brulee is overpriced, but everything else is priced very well for the area, so I won't. The register staff are very kind and patient.
For food, I highly recommend the Korean beef sandwich and okonomiyaki with shrimp. For tea, that's all on your own taste...don't hesitate to ask at the counter if you're unsure of anything.
My only real gripe is with the lack of space, which I realise the staff can't do anything about. There are oftentimes plenty of people who'd finished their meals and drinks a good while ago who linger while other patrons need tables. Recently, a single guy was taking up a 4-person table...but again, that's NOT an issue with Teaism, just the average DC resident's politeness and selflessness to be ready for if it's your first time.

I am not a great cook and I get too tired of eating the same old thing day in and day out so I decided to try something new after leaving my acupuncture session today. Well, needless to say the creamy curry spinach with cheese cubes and brown rice made my day.

This is my favorite place to eat in DC. It’s very hard to find a place where you can order pretty much anything on the menu and be sure it’s going to be healthy, delicious and great quality, and Teaism successfully checks all these boxes for me. And the atmosphere and people who work here are always very nice! All the best to your business you’re doing a great job!

Teaism is an absolute gem tucked inside a charming, older building that adds so much character to the whole experience. The layout is unique and cozy, downstairs has a relaxed bar vibe where you can catch a glimpse of the kitchen in action, while upstairs feels like a quaint little restaurant, perfect for a quiet meal.

The food is amazing, full of comfort and flavor. My personal favorite is the Ochazuke with Salmon: simple, soulful, and beautifully prepared. It’s the kind of dish that just makes you feel good.

The atmosphere is always warm and inviting, and the service is consistently friendly and thoughtful. Whether you’re stopping in for a quiet meal or just soaking in the vibe, Tea is the kind of place that makes you want to come back again and again.

If you love tea, this is the place for you. They have a huge selection of delicious teas. And you can turn any drink into a boba drink.

I’ve going to Teaism in Dupont for years. Years! And I’ve always been satisfied. Until now. I got a salmon bento box takeout and portions were HALF what it usually is. And certainly what it is when you dine in. The price is the same. When I asked about it, two staff looked at me and laughed in my face. You just lost a very loyal customer!

Can't beat their tea menu and the food is excellent also. Not quite as big as the Penn Quarter location, but there is seating upstairs.

Small, yet comfortable and luxurious feeling. The tea is exceptional and the desserts pair very well with them.

After a full morning viewing the wonderful Mucha exhibit at Phillips Collection (which is also amazing), my sister and I enjoyed a delicious late lunch Okonomiyaki and the best hot chai! Highly recommended
