They do tack on 5% charge on your bill as permitted by the city for essentially added profit (separate from your tip still of course). Why don’t they just add that to the price of the food? Or how about they charge 1 dollar for all food then tack on a raw food surcharge, heating and cooling surcharge, cooking surcharge, kitchen to table delivery surcharge, cleaning surcharge. Anyway the food is pretty good but nothing special as brunches go. You’d be better off buying takeaway food from very nearby Trader Joe’s.

I had such an incredible experience at Ted’s, and it was all thanks to our amazing bartender/server DAVONTE.

From the moment we sat down, he made us feel genuinely welcome. His energy was warm, attentive, and effortlessly professional. He knew the menu inside and out, offered thoughtful recommendations, and crafted our drinks perfectly — balanced, creative, and exactly what we were hoping for. We ended up getting the Pan Seared Branzino, it was probably the best Branzino we’ve evened tired.
What really stood out was the attention to detail. Our glasses were never empty, every request was handled quickly and with a smile, and checked in at just the right moments without ever being intrusive. You can tell he truly cares about creating a great guest experience.

It’s rare to find someone who can juggle the bar and tables so seamlessly while still making every guest feel like a priority. He absolutely elevated our visit, and we’ll be coming back specifically because of the service we received.

If you’re at Ted’s Bulletin, do yourself a favor and sit in his section — you won’t be disappointed!

Thank you Davonte!!!

One of my favorite DC restaurants. I recognize that it's a chain restaurant, but the quality of food is top notch. Breakfast was great! Prices were reasonable.

Last Saturday around noon, we were in the area trying to decide where to grab a bite. I’ve always enjoyed Ted’s Bulletin, so the choice was easy - especially since it was Valentine’s Day.

As expected, it was busy, with both the bar area and dining room filled with guests. While waiting for our table, we ordered drinks at the bar. The bartender was attentive, and the beverages were well made.

Our wait wasn’t long before our table was ready. Once seated, our server continued the positive experience - attentive, engaging, and accommodating. I was interested in one of the specials, even though they were advertised as beginning at 4:00 p.m. The server kindly confirmed that I could still order my preferred selection.

Overall, the ambiance, food, and service were all excellent. We ordered dessert to go, which I later enjoyed, and it was just as good.

Right so how did they get a three star review with five star food, service and atmosphere. Its that 5% service fee!! 2.8% or even 3% but 5% is highway robbery. They definitely arent being charged that much in credit card fees. What's worse is that they dont even tell you about the fee. They just shove that cc machine in your face without a word. By the time I realized It, I was already home. So now that 25% tip is 30%. Hard pass.

Earlier today, the manager at this location told my group that we needed leave because we had been there for over 2 hours.

When we told him we had been there for one hour, because we were seated 30 mins late (we were there on time), and we had only been sitting for right over an hour. When the manager was told this he said: “well that’s not what the iPad says” and he walked away.

This abrasive attitude is unnecessary and there are plenty of great places to eat in DC to be treated like this, and told we were lying to him.

Inexcusable.

I had a reservation today, February 15th, at 12:30 p.m., and the experience was extremely frustrating.

I arrived early and checked in, and at my reservation time was told they were running behind because no tables were available (why make a reservation then?). I completely understand delays happen — however, I wasn’t seated until about 12:55 p.m., more than 20 minutes after my reservation time.

Because of that delay, two of my friends had to leave earlier than planned. We even let our server know that since part of our group had already left, the extra space could be used to seat other guests — meaning their delay actually ended up helping them turn over a table sooner.

Not even an hour after being seated, our server began rushing us to pay. After we paid — while we were still finishing our coffee — the manager came over and told us we needed to leave because there were people waiting. I calmly explained that we had been seated about 25 minutes late and had not even been there for an hour. He then insisted we had been there for two hours.

I told him I had a timestamped text showing exactly when we were seated, since I had messaged a friend who was running late at that moment. His response was, “Well, my iPad says you were seated two hours ago.” That wouldn’t have even been accurate if we had been seated on time — and we weren’t.

Being seated late due to restaurant delays and then rushed out — only to be essentially told that I was wrong about my own timeline — is unacceptable customer service. If there is a time limit for tables, it should begin when guests are actually seated, not when the reservation was scheduled, especially when the delay is entirely on the restaurant.

The food and our server were fine, but the manager’s handling of this situation ruined the entire experience. Being rushed because of restaurant delays and then made to feel like I was lying about it is not how guests should be treated.

Because of this, I will seriously reconsider returning.
