I was disappointed with my experience at the Hamilton. It really was only a 2.5 star experience, not 3. It wasn’t all bad, but it was not what I expected. The restaurant is beautiful and our server. Courtney was great as well. They were three of us eating that evening and my husband loved his monkfish, my son-in-law said his hamburger was average, but my crabcake platter was less than average. For an upscale restaurant and the upscale price that I paid, it should’ve been larger and much tastier. A few other negatives that I saw. The women’s bathroom was very dirty and needed to be attended to. Also, I was surprised that our dishes stayed on the table and nobody came to pick them up. What surprised me is that a manager walked by a few times and never had anyone come to clean the table. Would I go back to The Hamilton? Definately not. The positives totally did not outweigh the negatives.

3 nights in DC, this is night one after traveling most of the day. Loved everything…Service, food and ambiance. Had great entrees of crabcake and fruitta de mare. Started with the very yummy crave bisque. We were a little disappointed they had ran out of dumplings and the tuna entree but so many other options. First time but won’t be the last,

Service was terrible. Had reservations, got there on time only to watch people without a reservation be seated until I said something. Once seated, the waitress finally came and took order. Once order received waitress took waitress awhile to see how meal was going and to ask if we needed anything else. If you are in the area, fine then eat here but do not go out your way to make a trip to this restaurant.

Really enjoyable evening prior to seeing the greatest rock and roll band you've never heard of. Some of us know!

What a wonderful place... our server Katie from Ukraine was amazing! Such a pleasure and fun to be with. Very knowledgeable and lovely! Grateful to her and the Hamilton for making our dining experience and “experience” !!!!

I was impressed by the service and the ambience of the restaurant. The Hamilton was extremely busy when I went (Wednesday night) but with my reservation I was seated after a short 3-5 minute wait. The only drawback to my experience keeping me from giving my experience 5 stars is the pricing of the food. While the grilled chicken salad I got was good, it was priced higher than what I thought it was worth. The chicken was a bit bland, but the dressing and the bacon bites made up for it. Overall, I'd recommend stopping by here if you are close to the National Mall. Expect to spend $30-80 dollars a person (or even more with alcoholic drinks).

Brilliant, as usual. Food excellent and good value. Service superb. One of our favourite restaurants in the world.

I love brining visitors to the Hamilton - it's a standout in downtown DC. Variety of food and drink choices, great atmosphere, great service.

Our server (Hensley??) was AMAZING. The hostess staff was not welcoming and made us wait while they continued to talk amongst themselves. Not about tables or seating needs.

We were seated promptly for our reservation, which was a good start. Our server was friendly but not very attentive to our needs. The food was average—my mashed potatoes were cold, and no one came by to check on our meal. We also asked for a chocolate martini, but the server said the bar couldn’t make one, which was surprising since it’s such a simple drink. Overall, I wasn’t impressed with the experience and I’m not sure we’ll return on our next visit.

Great atmosphere and pleasant service at The Hamilton. This was our first visit and overall very welcoming, food was great but it does get busy and our one of order was missed. Would recommend to others, it's a nice restaurant centrally located.

We have been to Dc many times, and this is the first time we've eaten here! Its just as previous reviews have said. The ambience, the food, and service are all excellent! If you are new to Dc, definitely put this one on your list! We will definitely be returning!

I really wanted to love this dinner. My boyfriend and I were celebrating one year together and I planned a trip to DC for us. This meal, before seeing a comedy show, was a letdown. We ordered the pork belly appetizer that didn't show up until our entrees were done, and we had to ask twice for it. My boyfriend had butternut squash ravioli that was undercooked - the edges were tough. My wedge salad was okay and the mussels I had were spicy and good. However, when we finished eating, our server dropped off the check without asking if we wanted coffee (we did) or dessert (we might have). I only gave the service the stars I did because our server was friendly and sweet. I will likely not go back.

Food was a mix. My wife loved her butter nut squash ravioli with seasoned Brussel sprouts. Fig reduction and Brussel sprouts were excellent. My filet mignon and truffle parmesan fries was OK. The steak was perfectly cooked medium rare. Nice crust to the outside. But the meat was mostly tough. Not impressed with Linz heritage beef. French fries were bad. They were crisp but had a greasy texture and were mostly tasteless. Disappointed. Beautiful dining and bar area. Mahogany every where. Old time feel. HUGE dining room broken into several rooms. A little loud. Bar was nice service in the bar and dining room were very good. Bar waitress was friendly and efficient. Dining room server was efficient. Not very personable. Nice evening out.
