Great spot! Easy to find. Super packed and lots of seating. Cocktails were super tummy, love allspice flavors in cocktails. Only thing is I wish there was more seating? Or places for loners like myself to hang out Will try the food next time!

We stopped by twice to Thirsty Crow to hang out with our son who lives nearby. Seems like a good bar to hang out with friends, play a game or some pool and relax. The drink selection is alright, but I wouldn't consider it "inventive" in the cocktail department. I had a simple G&T the first time we came, and a beer the second. There was enough variety that we all found something to order. There are tvs with whatever current sports games are playing, though I wouldn't come for a game I super cared about intensely focusing on. The lone bartender our first night seemed a little disinterested. The second night we came, there were two bartenders who seemed more engaged. They have games like connect 4, scrabble, etc. Thirsty Crow does its job as a chill, no-frills, basement bar thats a good place to meet up with friends (or in our case, our son). If that's all you want/need, it fits the bill. If you're looking for a higher end place with extensive cocktail options and sophisticated vibe, this isn't that place.

They are a sports bar under Makan serving a limited number of Malaysian dishes, beer and cocktails, and several pool tables. I enjoy twists on classics, and in that regard their food satisfies. The char siu wings are tasty, with a dry rub. They are very thick and juicy with great char flavor, though the meat is a bit chewy. The hot chicken sandwich is even better. Seriously amazing. Note they no longer have Sunday happy hours.

Beware: undisclosed $100 preauthorization hold for opening a tab. Disappointed with the rude response from management, and I stand by my statement that this “company policy” should be disclosed upfront. Most inconvenient $7 beer I’ve ever ordered, won’t be coming back.

Went here once and I won't be coming back because the bartender charged exactly $100 to my card AND my friends' cards when we each order just one or two drinks. The charges ended up being reversed, but not after putting the hold on our accounts and tying up funds in the middle of the holiday season. Some of us had to contact our banks because it shut down the cards on suspected fraud. A whole fiasco not worth it for one or two beers! We have chalked it up to human error - though it was strange is happened to all of us - but it was a bad enough experience to deter us from coming back.

Such a fun place! If it's busy, it's loud- it's a basement! Lots of sports games on the TV's and people playing pool in the far corner. We sat at the bar, ordered drinks and food on a Saturday around 7:30pm. Service is pretty fast and the food and drinks are good. I got a cocktail and my dining partner got a beer. They have a fine tap list of local and standbys. Short cocktail list, which I appreciate quality over quantity. We shared the spring rolls, chicken sandwich and Dan Dan noodles. I was a bit sad at only two spring rolls but they were good. The chicken sandwich was great- well battered and fried, good ample toppings, nuanced flavors and a nice side of fries. The noodles were great too, meaty and messy and spicy. The only draw back of this place is how hopping it is. I was not a fan of people so close and loud, but alas, that's what I get for sitting at the bar on a busy night!

Didn't appreciate the undisclosed $100 preauthorization hold for my $7 beer, or the lack of empathy and downright rudeness from the hostess when I tried to follow up on the major inconvenience. We were told management was upstairs (manager would not come downstairs to address the situation), and then received a "sorry you feel that way", and "well, we're not going to refund you, so..." from the hostess. I was absolutely not doing anything to warrant the attitude received especially given that I was the one who had been majorly inconvenienced, and it made an embarassing situation even worse. The money is still being held and could take up to 5 days to release. As a student, this situation destroyed my evening and wrecked my weekend budget, so a little bit of empathy would have gone a long way. Extremely disappointed by how this was handled. I understand the need for a preauth system to protect the business, but a financial hold that large should absolutely be visibly disclosed somewhere if it's company policy, as I never would have made the choice to keep my card open had I known. Learned 2 lessons: never open a bar tab in gentrified DC, and never step foot in the Thirsty Crow again.
