My partner and I dined in and our bill came up to around $165 . The issue we had was that our server never mentioned gratuity was already included. We weren’t shown an itemized breakdown of the food we order, so we couldn’t see if the tip was included, all he did was read it out loud, and because we weren’t informed that the tip was already included we left an additional 15 dollar tip, thinking gratuity wasn’t included, we paid and we left but it would’ve been helpful for the server to fully communicate when gratuity is included and provide and itemized receipt. Transparency would prevent situations like these to happen and not disclosing it, feels misleading and unprofessional.

My friend and I came at around 5:15pm during operating hours and the restaurant was completely dark and closed with no indication online of being closed. Also when we called the restaurant multiple times there was no answer when we had also made a reservation on Opentable beforehand. Very unprofessional.

Went to this bar since it seemed cool on the outside however once actually stepping in the “security” or doorman demanded a $10 entrance fee to enter. After entering the atmosphere was nowhere to be found and the place barely had any people when we entered and once more people did come in they were not charged. So I guess they pick and choose who pays an entrance fee. After confirming with one of my friends they also said that they have never paid an entrance fee. On top of that we were charged almost $60 dollars for 3 shots with an automatic gratuity. They have a pole on a table that is supposedly for people to use but as soon as anyone wants to get on it they ask you to get off. Overall i definitely don’t recommend coming it seems like they just want to take advantage of you if you’re new to the area or they don’t know you.

i did not have a good experience. According to their website, Tokyo pearl is open for happy hour on Tuesdays. My friend booked a reservation, little did we know, the restaurant was going to be closed that day. Never said anything on their website abt any closings. Despite that, me and my friend bought a $60+ uber to DC to find the place closed. We called several times days after and nobody answering the phone. I think it is extremely unprofessional that you allow customers to book reservations and allow online DoorDash orders even tho your establishment is closed during business hours.

There’s something strange with this establishment. On the website it says they are open on Tuesdays and do the happy hour. The only thing online that isn’t open Mondays and Tuesdays is the club, I’m not sure if they are connected or not because I wasn’t able to go. My friend and I spent $60 on a uber from Maryland to come on a Tuesday just for them to be closed. I made a reservation a few days ahead on OpenTable, there was absolutely no indication that the restaurant wouldn’t be open. Not only that, during their supposed operating hours they don’t pick up the phone, so customers have no way of speaking with someone who actually works there. Lastly, while my friend and I were trying to figure out why this placed was closed, a doordasher was also looking because he had a food order. I think accepting online orders knowing the restaurant is closed is a terrible thing to do as a business. Whenever they open I would never waste money or time at this establishment because of this.

This was my go-to club in Dupont for years. However, they have now hired a bouncer who charges arbitrary per-person covers that must be sent directly to his personal Venmo.

The venue denies this and insists they don't charge cover, but at times when there supposedly is none the bouncer is still collecting cover via Venmo and CashApp, choosing what to charge each person arbitrarily.

Cannot recommend this place to anyone knowing that there's a high likelihood they'll be scammed at the door by someone the venue will claim to have no affiliation with if pressed.

We made a reservation through open table and confirmed with Tokyo Pearl a couple of days later. We showed up to the restaurant at the time of our reservation and it was closed.

Stopped in for happy hour and would definitely go back. The place itself is super cute and great for photos.

We went here on Nov. 21st and there was a camera in the bathroom pointed towards the toilet.

Edit: IF this is a scent diffuser, it needs to be moved or changed out for something else. I should be able to feel safe to use the bathroom in a bar. I don't know who would choose to put a scent diffuser that looks like a camera pointed at a toilet and think that's okay.
