If I could them -10 I would. The worst place in the DC i would not recommend this place. To go to the bathroom, you have to pay an extra fee. I’ve been in Dc before but wow. We waited for 2 hour in the bathroom line.

I visited this spot on Sunday to celebrate a friend’s birthday, and I’ve had it on my DC bucket list for a while. The vibe is very cool — beautiful décor, fun lighting, and an overall trendy atmosphere that makes it perfect for a night out.

However, the experience was a bit mixed. The staff was friendly and polite, but clearly overwhelmed — maybe it was the Labor Day weekend rush, maybe short staffing — they seemed forgetful and distracted. The food itself was okay. The sushi was good but not the best I’ve had in DC, and the drinks were decent.

What really caught us off guard was the tiny visitor we had at the table — a mouse! It definitely startled us, especially those in our group who have had traumatic experiences with rodents. They were nice enough to offer free shots, whether for the delay or as a goodwill gesture for the mouse incident, which we appreciated.

This place has been on my list for a long time, and I had even thought of celebrating my own birthday here. After this visit, it’s probably no longer my first choice for a special occasion. The décor and vibe are great, and I might come back for a casual hangout with friends — but it’s no longer a “must-do” destination for me.

Waited an hour for drinks when there were only 3 other tables on the patio. Waited another 60 min for food we ordered. Had to scarf everything down and jet because the garage I was parked in was closing. A week later, I've got a fraud alert on my credit card. I can't say it was from here, but I didn't use it between this bar and the alert....

usually a good vibe for a night out but they randomly decided to charge a cover so we left and walked down two storefronts to madhatter for free

My wife and I had drinks/snacks here recently and really enjoyed the vibe. Shoutout to the bartender who made my drink, it was a heavy pour lol. Shrimp tempura and momo chicken were portioned perfectly for a happy hour situation. The hanging basket chairs were a nice touch

Disrespectful staff. Disappointed. The service and drinks at Cafe Citron was much better.

The atmosphere was what attracted us to it but the drinks and service were terrible.

A great spot for happy hour deals. I ordered the bok choy and sushi off of the $7 menu and both were simple yet tasty. I also ordered the veggie bao which was a bit disappointing because it was just peppers and onions but I liked the spicy mayo with it. The back patio was cute and has a roof that opens up.

The service was the least enjoyable part of the trip. The server was not friendly and kept policing our table, coming back to every 5 minutes. We felt rushed and pushed out toward the end.

They advertise a happy hour on their website. They have laminated menus on the bar clearing stating happy hour prices. I attended an event there that occurred during their happy hour period. The bartenders refused to honor happy hour prices. They charge 22% automatically for tips. Service wasn’t worth 22%. You could never get the bartenders’ attention. The receipt did not state there was an automatic tip. So, I double tipped.

Looks nice and cool aesthetic.

Service inside is beyond shitty. You’re telling me a location that makes reservations, for the tiny space btw, doesn’t have the decency to have a private bathroom. Instead just cut lines in bar and bathroom, where there was a group about to pass out needing it.

I understand if that’s how it works it’s cool, I don’t need man child named Khalil or “Dr Khalid” like he said to call him, to explain to me how “it works here” or “this is your first time, you don’t know anything”. Khalid, I know when money hungry companies do the bare minimum to maximize profit, but yall can have the decency of using the money yall leach off shitty reservations and drunk people to properly build a “private bathroom” so your snobs don’t ruin the experience for the casual DC crowd.

First and last time coming here, the audacity to try to talk me down like I’m drunk cause I’m upset you let 6 people cut a line of 20 mins, SYBAU.

I thought the place was nice and fun, but it was definitely a poorly disguised scam given that there are a lot of other clubs and bars in the dupont nightlife that are literally free to get into. It had a 10 dollar cover (even for ladies, and hot ones at that?!) and there weren't even multiple floors or sections, just one poorly ventilated dingy room that was rather warm. The music was amazing though, it would have almost been worth it had it not been for the fact we got hustled for WATER. water at this place was 5 dollars per cup.

There were no other customers when we arrived and the layout of the space is really confusing. They seated us outdoors and the patio is cute but it was extremely hot. The fans did nothing to cool things off. We had to move inside - but they only have metal high tops in the bar which were uncomfortable. We should have left at that point. We ordered the crispy rice with salmon appetizer. It was crispy rice with ground salmon on top instead of sliced fish - I've never even seen that before! The shrimp tempura had a sauce on top that was way too sweet and the Old Bae had the same sauce plus a huge glop of mayo. Could not taste any of the seafood. This restaurant clearly serves low-quality sushi and tries to hide it under sauces and mayo. Hoping we don't get sick tonight. Will not return - ever.

Went to the nightclub part of Tokyo pearl. They do free drinks for women at different parts of the night, sometimes it’s after 10:30pm. This is heavily subsidized by off hour or drinks paid by men. A well drink, whiskey and coke will run you $23. It’s also a pretty small area, you are better off going next door to Madhatter with a big dance floor and drinks that will run you 9-11$
