Wonderful, attentive service. So many great choices on the menu. Settled on signature clam chowder and brown butter salmon and both were fantastic. Nice selection of wines to accompany. Can't wait to return to try other menu offerings.

Our server was so pleasant. We ate here two mornings in a row since we stayed at the hotel and he remembered us and was so friendly and attentive. Delicious food and love that they open so early for breakfast and that they take reservations for busier times.

We started with the chowder, still the recipe from 1925, which was absolutely out. The beets in whipped feta cheese is also recommended. Entrees were the salmon and the sea bass. The later was in a sauce with a variety of vegetables such as corn, Lima beans, tomatoes, etc. It had a South American preparation, it seems, with just the right amount of spice to it, and again it is highly recommended. The restaurant was very busy due to a conference at the Mayflower but the service was excellent and the noise level a bit high. Overall, it was an excellent dinner and Edgar's is highly recommended!!!

Food and drinks were very good. Small food menu, no specials. Service could've been better. There didn't seem to be one server assigned to a table or section like most places. Multiple people served us which seemed to make the drinks take a bit longer, and service wasn't overly friendly or personable.

Nice location. Tasty food, smaller portion sizes. For the price one would expect more. Ambience nice. Even though we had reservations we were sitted by the bar which was a bit noisy.

I was really excited to celebrate my goddaughter's 21st birthday dinner at the Edgar Bar and Kitchen at The Mayflower Hotel. Despite the food being good it was one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had. One of the orders was messed up had to wait for almost 15 minutes for the correct order to come out after everyone already had their food. No apology. We had one cocktail each and the waitress never asked if we wanted another one. When the bill came, that was wrong too and when I pointed it out to the waitress she tried to tell me it was fine because she didn't charge for the chicken wings. Instead charged for a salad we didn't have that was $12 more than the wings. Overall, it was a really disappointing experience.

Oh goodness, where to begin? First, I want to say that everyone was so very nice and friendly, and this review is not a statement about that. However, the level of confusion and incompetence and total lack of customer service was beyond any we've experienced elsewhere. It was mind boggling. We originally made reservations for what was supposed to be their special New Year's Eve dinner event. This was to include what we thought would be extensive appetizer and dessert stations in addition to our choice of entree and a bottle of champagne for the table. This came at a premium price, but hey, it's a special occasion so why not. Plus, we were told that the regular menu would only be available until 6:00 pm and we were eating later. Fine. We arrive for our reservation and are greeted oddly by the hostess asking us if we knew that the dinner would cost $150 per person. Ummm, yes. She then lead us to our table and handed us a menu that had the restaurant's regular offerings with prices next to each item with none of the special entrees listed. It was confusing and when we inquired, nobody seemed to know what we were talking about. I pulled up the menu on my phone and showed the server who looked quizzically at it and tried to compare it to the menu in front of us. She needed to get the manager because she was thoroughly confused. He came over and he was confused too. He said we should have gotten the special menu when we walked in. Okay, but by this point, we were so over wanting to spend over $600 for dinner (those appetizer and dessert stations??? Not so appetizing. Picture a few trays of cubed cheese and a few mini pastries...no thank you) and so we asked if we could just order from the regular menu. Crisis averted. We went ahead and ordered and felt good about it. Our server was very sweet but still seemed confused. We did eventually get our drinks and appetizers...the meal took a long time to arrive. Nobody checked on us. Anyway, we made the best of it, but wow.

We chose this place for Thanksgiving dinner. It was very attractive, the server was excellent and the staff was pleasant. I had an issue with my dessert- it was an ice cream sandwich (two cookies with ice cream in the middle) the issue was that it had what looked like cookie crumbles. They were pop-rocks! I had a blow up popping in my mouth. It did not say that on the menu. Also the cookie was solid frozen. They obviously do not sell many of them. The best part was they removed the item off my bill. Awesome!

Very nice menu and gracious service. The evening we were there it was a little busy and noisier than when we were there previously, but waitstaff we're just as efficient and friendly as we experienced before. Very pleasant meal!

A very unDC experience. Servers passing customers by, hostess working as server, servers passing out condiments and not a single manager in sight. Not even an Edgar at Edgar's.

We heard the food was excellent and what we heard was correct! My wife had the crab and shrimp risotto. It was presented very nicely and tasted delicious. I had the fish on top of veggies. Also presented well and a wonderful mix of flavors. Well worth a visit.

Egg white omelette and chicken apple sausage were some of the best I've had. Service was on point the entire meal. Lovely setting. Low noise level and easy to talk at your table. Perfect for personal of professional breakfast or lunch during the work week.

As it caters for both Work parties and folk drinking at the bar as expected the noise levels are quite loud. The food & service were great. If you need a ‘quick' tasty meal it is perfect but not the spot for a long romantic meal ?

What a great experience! The food was fantastic and our server was even better. When I made the reservation, I checked off that we were celebrating a birthday. Our waiter graciously brought out a beautiful dessert with a birthday candle. It was wonderful!
