Tonari is a must-go joint! Truly my favorite place in DC. All of their prix fixe 'experience' menus are exciting and bubbly and I love trying them out! The Caesar salad was so good and extra savory, our pasta dishes were unique, and that pizza! Always light, fluffy, zesty, tangy, slightly sweet. I hope I'll be seeing that tiramisu again. We loved the lambrusco and vermouth drink pairings. We love you, Tonari!!

Overall we enjoyed our experience. The lighting is just slightly too dark to read the menu. The food was generally good - we had the restaurant week menu - the black ragu was ok but had too many competing flavors. We did not like the tiramisu at all - the coffee cream tasted burnt and the mascarpone cream had Chardonnay in it which gave it a sour flavor. The burrata was absolutely delicious.

Made a reservation for 8 people, then messaged in the app to change it to 10 the day before which was accepted, then 1 more person had to join the day of and when I called they said 10 was the max, but when we arrived they had made a table for 12 - complicated situation that I fully take responsibility of, and I appreciate Tonari pulling through in the end! Service was good, just wish we were checked on a little more later in the night as we wanted to order more. We were seated...
