Tony Cheng Reviews
im eating here right now and not only as the only melinated person in the restaurant but as one of the youngest patrons i can honestly say I've never been so uncomfortable in my life at any other eating establishment. A+. Inexpensive and authentic. Was shocked it wasn’t packed on the 4th of July. So hard to find good Mongolian BBQ and this place didn’t disappoint.

Tony Cheng is the oldest Chinese restaurant in DC, with an old-school atmosphere. The food is decent, with the duck being a highlight, but not exceptional. Service can be hit-or-miss, with some reports of excellent service and others mentioning impolite waiters. Drinks have fun names but are overpriced. The restaurant is located at the top of stairs, offering a wonderful surprise once you arrive. The dining area and tables are well set up, creating a pleasant environment. The Peking duck is authentic, crispy, and flavorful, and the dishes are made with fresh ingredients. The fried rice is generously loaded with shrimp, and the vegetables are crisp and delicious. Everything is seasoned just right, avoiding the salt and sweetness common in American-style food. The waitstaff are kind and attentive, checking in to ensure guests are comfortable. Overall, Tony Cheng offers a nostalgic, welcoming experience with good food and attentive service, making it a place worth visiting again.
