The USDA Food Hall Court is one of those places you’d never find unless someone tipped you off. No signs, no hype, no breadcrumbs. Just suddenly… boom, a massive buffet hiding in plain sight.

This is hands-down the best buffet in the country, and it isn’t even close. It’s not just better than mall food courts—it’s in a completely different league. Think Italian, Asian, BBQ, Southern, Southwestern, and then some. The selection is enormous, and somehow...
The food was good, the service was good, and there was plenty of seating. Restrooms were conveniently located nearby. And it was also less than a block from the smithsonian metro station. All around it was one of the best food and customer service experiences I had in Washington D.C. near the mall.
It was ok. You have to go through security and as a first timer it can be overwhelming. When we got to the cafeteria we didn’t know what to expect. Some reviews say there is a buffet but there wasn’t one when we went. It was more so the mall type cafeteria where each location served different foods cooked to order. There wasn’t any bottled water but there was a machine in the dining area. Dining area was huge with a lot of seating.
