Below average food and s’mores for the price. The server also kept leaving without fully listening to us. Terrible experience, truly a waste of money.

I reserved a table for my husband’s birthday and clearly mentioned the occasion in advance, but the restaurant made no effort at all to make it special. We were given poor seating, waited almost 20 minutes just to get a menu, and no one checked on us.
Because it was his birthday, I had to personally walk around the restaurant to find a better spot and ended up seating ourselves in a nicely decorated area—something the staff should have handled proactively.
The worst part was a serious violation of privacy. Someone took our photos and later returned with printed copies without my consent. When I asked for them, I was forced to pay the full amount or leave them behind. This was extremely uncomfortable and unacceptable.
Overall, very disappointing service and a ruined special occasion. Would not recommend for celebrations.

The decor of this place is top-notch. It had been years since the last time I was there.
The crowd was interesting. Seemed very young. It was also New Year's Eve, in the early evening. The atmosphere seemed different than what I remembered. But I'd definitely go back.
Their version of the bang-bang shrimp is superb; the drinks were really good; but the short ribs were fatty.

I visited during the holidays and the decorations were so fun! Each room had a special theme. Food was good too.

Food was good. Place is nicely decorated for a unique experience. Prices are a bit high but maybe comparable to similiar places. Service was terrific.

Horrible experience. Waited 2 hours for our food. It wasn’t even busy in there. The food finally came and was bland and small portioned. We had 2 drinks and 2 entrees, they added multiple fees & our bill was $180. Do not waste your money or time.

This was by far the best experience I had in a long time. Everything was on point. From the time we went in until the time we left, everything was amazing. The ambiance… I was literally speechless. I give it 10 stars. My daughters love the s’mores. We loved it, a good way to bring in the new year🥰👏🏽

Decoration: Perfect
Food: Very disappointing — Panda Express is honestly three times better
Drinks: The martini was okay, but the hot chocolate was absolutely terrible
Service: Extremely slow. Our waitress didn’t check on us even once to see if everything was okay or if we needed anything
Price: A mandatory service fee is automatically included in the bill, separate from the tip

TERRIBLE service and mediocre food. We’ve visited Urban Roast Penn location a couple of times and each time has been worst than the last. We will never be back at this location. We usually like to bring out of town guests for the ambiance and decorations but the food and service is truly terrible and not worth the hassle for the “ambiance” and “pictures”. With so many restaurants options in DC, it’s just unacceptable to receive mediocre service at such high costs.
In regards to the most recent visit, we decided to visit to bring guests from out of town to enjoy the holiday decorations with hot chocolate and smores. The server Ellie was rude and abrupt from the get go. When we ordered our hot chocolates and smores, she snapped “is that all? You won’t be ordering anything else?” When I told her no that we were there to enjoy the hot chocolate and smores, she abruptly told us then we didn’t need any silverware and to hand her back the folded napkins and silverware. She said we would need “paper napkins”. Well we got out smores and hot chocolates, and never got any napkins or plates until she came a second time asking “if we were ready to check out” when we were still visibly eating the hot chocolates and smores. Mind you this was on a Monday evening, not a busy night and plenty of tables open. We were a table of 5 adults and 1 toddler, never got any napkins or plates, and saw this lady twice (to take order and ask for close out check) & they automatically added a 20% tip to the bill. I’ve worked in the service/restaurant industry, and in this situation a 0% tip was warranted. We paid our bill, and left. BUT WILL NEVER BE BACK, and recommend for you to spend your hard earned money elsewhere with better service and food.

We had the Oh Deer!, tomato basil soup and adult grilled cheese, mini pigs in a blanket, Mac and cheese bites, candy bowl, polar pizza, cider sleigh ride, and elf peppermint shake.

This place is beautiful during Christmas time! The decor is so fun and magical. The food was great as well as the holiday drinks. (Peppermint Hot chocolate was my favorite!)
My family and I ordered the Rise and Shine and the Hangover Board. Both were great options and plenty of food for 3

Salmon was hard, no flavor. The short rib has no seasoning but the sauce was the only to carry it. And it was more like dragging. My waiter and hostess, did a lot of accommodating, but the food was not it.

Went to this place for the Christmas bar atmosphere, drinks, and some appetizers. It was decorated to the hilt, lots of lights, trees, and decorations all around. Pretty cool.
The drinks were ok. Our party had a couple s'mores espresso martinis, a peppermint espresso martini, and a hot chocolate sampler. All were somewhat unique, but just ok. Definitely not worth the $20 each cost. My wife also got the Campfire Hot Cocoa, which again, was ok.
We also had three appetizers: the beef brisket dip, guac and chips, and halloumi. The beef brisket dip is way more queso/cheese and not much brisket. Average at best. The guac and halloumi were both good.
Service, again, just ok. Took a bit for our server to initially get to our table. After that, she was fine.
Overall, cool decorations for Christmas, but the drinks and food weren't great and not worth the price.
