I had the masala dosa. As an Indian myself who has had many dosas, I can confirm this was pretty decent. Seating feels kind of limited though and I felt like I sat in the worst corner of the restaurant. But I appreciate the plethora of vegan options. It's interesting to note that they have all kinds of vegan propaganda around— magazines about veganism and such— and that their menu is predominantly vegan, except for a few items like lassi and such which are made with dairy. Reminds me of my parents who say "we're basically vegan but just have milk with our tea". Bruh?!

This is one of my favorite gems in DC. I’ve never had a bad meal here, the staff is friendly, service and quick and everything is delicious!
Particular favorites are the Gobi dosa, samosa chat, and shahi paneer but I’m not exaggerating when I tell you I’ve liked every menu item I’ve ever tried.

Was a simple, nice restaurant. We ordered the paneer makhani, a naan, idly vada, a chole puri, a plain dosa and a salt Lassi. The dosa was the highlight, I asked them for an extra crispy dosa, and they did not disappoint at all. It was crispy and crunchy, not chewy at all - a major plus for me. The sambhar was decent, not a fan of the chutneys at all. The tomato chutney was vinegary and the coconut chutney was either frozen or used frozen cocunt that wasn't thawed completely (I make a lot of.coconut chutney from frozen coconut and have made this mistake a couple times and am picky about my chutney) The idly and vada were average, the salt Lassi was more like chaas than a Lassi, taste-wise it was a good chaas. The paneer makhani was creamy and buttery, the paneer was super soft, we really enjoyed it. The chole could use some more flavor and punch, it fell flat. The puri was one of the best I have had in the US, it was rolled thin and cooked all the way through, no half cooked semi-raw dough on top of the bottom layer. It wasn't too oily either, it was a really impressive puri overall. The naan was more like a pita flatbread than a naan, didn't like it was cooked in a Tandoor - personally not a fan.
The service was pretty quick, the food was fresh and they were very attentive and stopped by multiple times to ensure we were taken care of.
I would definitely recommend this place for dosas and the puri.

OMG I loved this place. Have eaten at a lot of desi restaurants around DC but Vegz has been the best easily. Primarily coz the taste was authentic Indian. Also, portion size was well as per the price.
We had mango Lassi, Chola puri and paneer Dosa (served with sambhar, coconut chutney). All items tasted sooo good and reminded me of home. The music playing there and the whole vibe was also desi.
A must visit place! 🫶

WOW! Best Indian food I’ve ever had. Love the basement dive vibe. Paper plates and you’ll have to wait for a table at busier times. Loved the spinach chat, paneer makhani, and the sambar side (soup). Hidden gem!!

My first dosa in the US - not bad at all. I had the Mysore Masala Dosa. The dosa was crisp, and the masala was very tasty. The chutneys added great depth to the dosa. If I could, i would wish the dosa had a lil more crunch to it, and that they served south Indian filter coffee - but I've found my DC dosa place!

Great spot for South Indian cuisine. I would stay away from their North Indian options and stick to the dosas for the most authentic experience, although everything tastes good. Large serving sizes!

This one is one of the best Indian restaurants I tried in the States. Servers are wonderful too. Our family had a great experience. 👍

Absolutely love this place. The food has always been good and I've always had pleasant encounter with the staff as well.
Wish this place was bigger, but in DC, for a completely vegetarian restaurant, in the neighborhood that they're in, any space is at a premium.
