Via Sophia is a renowned restaurant in DC that serves outstanding pasta dishes and offers an impressive selection of cocktails. The menu features a variety of Italian-inspired offerings, including grilled calamari, lasagna bites, and Margherita pizza. Customers have particularly enjoyed the delightful piadina and the well-received tiramisu. The restaurant caters to dietary restrictions with gluten-free options. Recent reviews highlight the great pizza with excellent crust that comes out piping hot, and the fantastic happy hour deals. The atmosphere has a nice vibe, though some find the music a bit too loud. The service is attentive but can feel rushed, especially during busy times. Customers praise the bartenders, especially Thomas, for his excellent drinks and friendly attitude. The cocktails, such as the Double Cherry Old Fashioned and house red wine, are highly recommended, with some describing the drinks as smooth, sweet, and amazing. The staff is responsive to special requests, and some customers appreciate the option to order half-portions of pasta dishes. Desserts like tiramisu are popular, though portion sizes can be small for the price. Overall, Via Sophia offers a lively environment with great food and drinks, making it a must-visit for a small bite and a drink.
