Upscale Crab & Seafood is a small business known for high-quality fare and the ease of ordering. When an order is said to be ready at a certain time, it actually is. The crabs are hot, meaty, and great prices, and the hush puppies are a great treat. The crab cake platter is delicious, with cole slaw and hush puppies, though there are too many fries. The lobster roll is also available; the lobster is cooked perfectly and tastes delicious, but one is a bit small for an adult. The crabby hush puppies with the cherry sauce are loved, with a recommendation to possibly make extra crab in the hush puppies and call them #1puppies. For crabs in Bethany to take out, this is the spot. Order ahead in order to avoid waiting outside. One visit included crabcake platters; nothing was horrible or bad, and there would be a stop again to give some other menu items a try. During a Labor Day weekend visit, no customers were at the truck when approached. A younger red headed kid said hello and began to talk. When asked if he had blue crabs because other establishments were sold out, he said yes. When asked to explain the difference in size and cost, a rude loud voice came from inside the truck saying “she either wants them or not” and “we don’t have time to show her our crabs when we’re jamming.” The poor red headed kid looked confused, worried and taken back. This was completely unacceptable and disrespectful. The individual was rude, obnoxious, arrogant and hid inside the truck while the young red headed kid did all the work. Other than him, the crabs were enjoyed. The interaction with the young red headed kid saved the sale. The man could potentially hurt new business and customer loyalty if he continues to handle clients in this manner.
