“On a recent visit to see Fort Delaware State Park, I stopped at the Ice Cream Parlor for a nice afternoon ice cream break and I sure am glad I did. They have a great variety of ice cream and the employee was very courteous. I'm sure glad I went there and would go there again next time I am there.”

“When my company arrived from Kansas and Indiana in April, I took them to Crabby Dick's in Delaware City and they absolutely loved it! They especially enjoyed the crab cakes and Maryland Crab soup. I got my usual favorite, steamed clams! Our server's name was either Mattie or Maddie. Not sure of the spelling, but she was outstanding. We were there on April 22nd.”

“I came to Metro Diner this morning off the humbug. I was starving & was craving some chicken & waffles from somewhere close in the area. Surprisingly the chicken was very seasoned and crispy. The waffles were also very tasty and soft. The strawberry butter mixed with their signature hot sauce was also pretty good. Alicia was my server. She was such a doll :) Her knowledge of the menu is impeccable and she took very good care of me. If you are in the Newark area and would like some tasty and quick diner food, go there & ask for Alicia <3 Thanks Alicia will be there again real soon !”

“We recently had dinner here. The food was excellent but the service was slow and we missed our usual server Murphy who was off. Murphy is awesome and her customer service is impeccable. The owner was gracious enough to reach out to me personally to explain that the oven was not working properly that evening. That was the reason for the long wait time for food. Everyone here generally cares about the customer and goes to great lengths to make sure you’re taken care of. Despite the oven setback the food was still good and the drinks as well.”

“Italian kitchen is a great one stop shop for all your catering orders. I showed up to pick up the sandwiches for our church lunch and I had put the wrong date on the order!!! “A Genuine Surprise Stop on Our Way Back From NYC

We were on our way home from NYC, planning to wash the car before calling it a day, when we drove past Pennsville Custard Stand. Right before it, we passed what can only be described as a crack den (a rundown motel with a few guys doing the crack dance), and honestly, we didn’t expect much more down the road.

Then suddenly, we see this beautiful little hole-in-the-wall shack that completely caught us off guard. Not only were the prices super reasonable, but the service was lightning fast — in and out like that.

It was clearly a regular local spot too. We saw a dad just casually enjoying his custard outside his truck, like this was his go-to ritual, while my wife and I enjoyed ours. It had this wholesome, small-town vibe that made the whole stop feel unexpectedly special.

If you’re ever passing through, don’t sleep on this place. Absolute gem.”
