Cromwell's American Tavern & Taqueria

We love it here, it’s a little pricey, but the food and service are always good! No free chip refills and kids drinks are $3.50 which always irks me a little bit. A special treat when we are up this way.

Love Cromwells and i know everyone has an off day but i felt like i was in the twilight zone. Couple people at the bar, 2 two tops and our 4 top at the bar. We ordered nachos, cauliflower, 2 orders of zinglets, and a couple other entrees. Told the bartender just to bring it out as it's ready. My girlfriend got her zingers and nachos 10 minutes before any of the other food came out including my zingers. Cauliflower was room temp. Asked for waters 4x. Bartender brought a beer that no one asked for, and never brought 2nd glass of wine for my girlfriend. Throughout the hour we were there, Modern Family was playing w sound at bar and big screen??? Who subjects restaurant goers to tv shows and not relaxing music. Very odd experience. For reference, i own 4 restaurants in Wilmington, NC

Friendly staff, good food, very clean. When it's 95 degrees out, ice in the water glass would be appreciated.

Cute little place, tucked away. The margaritas here are fantastic!! However, the food is just ok, lacks flavor. Also, the prices are outrageous (especially the Mexican food and salads)!!! There are so many other places with better food and way less expensive. If the food was 10/10, I would not mind paying the full price.

Pretty expensive... I got beef rib tacos and they didn't come with any cheese, crema, etc. just beef and tortilla because I requested no onions...it did come with salsa which was good, but for $20 I'd expect cotija and crema on the tacos. At least.

Service was great. Food wasn't bad but the price made it disappointing.

Great local tavern. We hit burger night on Sunday, great meal. Bartender is a star. Spoke w the owner about their bonus on gift cards. Its a great deal. Secret is their Mexican menu. Amazing food. Plenty of parking. If you're headed to winthur you should stop by before or after for great food and libations.

Parking: Great parking in a big strip mall, bring all your crew.

Kid-friendliness: Famiky friendly menu, something for everyone.

Wheelchair accessibility: Plenty of access, bathrooms accomodate.

Great place, excellent burgers

Been here twice. The food was good both times. Service needs improvementThe first time there was a group of 8 of usAfter ordering drinks we waited to order food and eventually flagged her down. She " didn't realize we wanted food"What?!Came again this past week, maybe it was busier than it seemed but we waited a looooooong time for our check which only came because I got up and told her as she was leaving another table.I don't typically leave "bad" reviews but the fact that the service was lacking both times it seemed worth mentioning

Food was delicious, great music, and nice decor! The Salmon Zarandeado was absolutely delicious, light, perfectly blended. A good price for two meals and dessert.Our waitress Nancy was awesome! Definitely returning.

Late, weekday lunch for two, after spending morning at local tourist attraction. No dessert or alcohol. Service staff were friendly and helpful. We both had menu Jambalaya; it was very good! Coffee (both with and without) was quickly available and very tasty.Parking was available, but very tight and few spots available.I would definitely return if we are in area again to go to the same attraction.

Ridiculously expensive. Imagine paying $16.75 for an iceberg lettuce wedge salad the size of your fist and $9.00 for a cup of soup. If you have money to burn, this is the place for you. Service was friendly, but this place isn't what it once was. Sad. We will not be back, ever, not even if you bring back popcorn.

This place was absolutely amazing! The margaritas were delicious. The tacos and garlic asparagus, coucous were unbelievable! This may have been a once in a lifetime experience due to passing through but highly recommended! Would hands down return if the opportunity arises!

Overall the experience was pretty good. Food was excellent. However when I tried to use my birthday coupon, I was told that I can't use it with any other specials, so basically you CAN use it on a Saturday. Would have been nice to know that ahead of time...And I hadn't had this happen with anyone elses coupons. We also were charged $2.75 for a side of jalapenos!?!. My wine was $8 on the menu, but was charged $11, and then happy hour discount was added. I made it known, but I'm not gonna get stressed out over $15 but I will give a four star review.
