My wife and I have eaten at the Buttery many times. It has been consistently excellent. The food and the service are both very, very good. It is a great seashore place to have lunch or dinner.

dHappy Hour on Mondays open to close, other days 3-7PM (closed Wednesdays) in a great bar and attached lounge. Reduced priced rail drinks, beer and wine. They recently changed their rail vodka and bourbon, the new vodka is N O T good. Best wine selection in town. Friendly staff. They have a main menu with dinner entrees (Short Ribs, Dijon Pork and Filet are very good), a Tavern menu with items ranging from 8.95 to 18.95 and a Happy Hour menu with smaller dishes for $5 (Onion soup, seafood chowder and Brussels Sprouts are very good). During Happy Hour they also have a burger and chicken sandwich for $10. They have Prime Rib with a glass of wine or beer for 25.95 on Thursday, small Filet and Crab Cake on Sundays for 19.95,

How anyone can give this restaurant a 5 star review is unbelievable!!! We have been coming here for years and will NEVER be coming back! We ate here three times in 2018 and each time it was progressively worse. When we arrived, the waitress notified us that there would be no bread as the pastry chef burned it all. What kind of pastry chef can't make bread???? I ordered the duck to be cooked medium and it came totally rare and I had to use my husbands steak knife to saw off a piece. Worst duck I have ever had in my life. And, tasteless!! So, good-bye Buttery-you've definitely lost us as customers!

This was a very cute place. I accompanied my parents for their 49th anniversary here. While i had other ideas for where i wanted to go for dinner, i'm glad that i was talked into joining them at one of their traditional long time favorite restaurants they travel to for special occasions while in Delaware. The waitress was lovely, attentive, and nice about turning the fan off for my dad. The drinks were well made. The meats were perfectly cooked to order. It is a Very classic and traditional menu with all the usual standards that are perfect for my parents night out. I see the fall menu is much different than the summer dinner entrees, which i felt were lacking more creativity than i would like, but this new menu looks fantastic. Being that each dish was perfectly executed i would be happy to come back with my folks :)

I can't even begin to tell you how pleasant the dining experience was tonight -top notch service and the kitchen knocked it out if the park 6 for 6 with the dinner entrees and dessert. I would recommend this to everyone! Best dining experience this year by a long shot. I wish them all the best!

This place is very nice. We had a salad. Big. Very good. The crab cakes very very very good, but I like mine better. The halibut special melted in my mouth. I loved it. The flan was great. I had this hot cocoa with vanilla vodka, and baileys, I think. It was delicious. Our waiter, Charlie, was friendly, timely, efficient, and smooth. He knew the menu and had great knowledge of the wine list. When we go back? We will request him!

Lovely atmosphere but bland menu. Not a lot of options. Food sort or typical and very boring. Wasted my money should have gone To Agave, across the street. Wish I could get a refund, oh also 12 dollars for a glass of wine and not a good pour either. Don't go here unless you want waste money and time. Really disappointed.

I took my wife to the Buttery for our first Anniversary and it was absolutely fantastic. The food was amazing and the atmosphere was great for just such an occasion. We had the bruschetta to start and it was excellent. I had a crab cake which was tasty and my wife had the steak that she said "was the best she's ever had." I tried it and i have to agree. The service was great the ambience was delightful and the food was top notch. I would highly recommend this place for a nice dinner. Drinks are a bit pricey so maybe consider Striper Bites across the street for a nice pint!

This was our second time here and it didn't disappoint. We didn't have a reservation and it was a Saturday night, but they were gladly able to accommodate us on the beautiful outdoor porch. We enjoyed our wine, our cheese board (not to be missed) and our grouper and scallops! They were truly delicious. Mary was just the right amount of attentive. We never felt rushed, we always felt cared for!Just a fabulous experience!

My wife and I were there on 8/12 for their Sunday brunch and were very well pleased with the food and service. The Sunday brunch at $25.00 is a great value, it includes a mimosa, Bloody Mary, champagne whichever you prefer. Desert also included. We will definitely be back when we vacation next year
Excellent lunch experience! Service was great, shrimp tacos and lobster roll were amazing. The fries were some of the best I ever had and the seafood chowder was delicious. Three big scoops of ice cream finished it all off. The waitress even gave us good beach advice!

Great Mother's Day brunch menu and food. Portions were on the small side but great ambiance. Be sure to get a reservation prior to 2 pm if you don't want to run the risk of them running out of items.

Love this cozy restaurant in Lewes. It is located inside a beautiful historic home. They have seating inside and also outside on the porch. It is casual and the food is delicious but the portions are a little small. It's enough for my husband and I but for others it may not be enough. They have a good wine list. We really enjoy eating here and they also have a bar area which is nice for an after dinner drink. There are quaint little shops along the street and also a wine bar. It's a lot of fun to visit this area.
