“My daughter took me out for dinner to celebrate my 62nd birthday here at Harbor at Canal Square. We went all out, soup to nuts so to speak, and it was a wonderful dining experience all around. Our waiter who Identified himself as Tom or Tommy was easily one of the best, intuitive and attentive servers I have ever had, and that's saying a lot. The Calimari was as good as we'd ever had, crispy and not too chewey, with just the right seasoning. The mussels were served piping hot with a delicious sweet curry style sauce that made me clean the plate with a spoon and a fresh whole Branzino fish which Tom recommended and explained that it was a Meditarainian sea bass. ? My daughter had the duck breast, whuch was so good she insisted that I tate it, and for dessert we shared the Cherry Tart served warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream from Hopkins, a local dairy farm. Tom explained that the desserts were all made in house by one of the owners. We both had tasty mocktails, and I finished up with a glass of tawny port. Although the place was busy, we never felt rushed and the whole vibe was reminiscent of a day's gone by fine dining experience, with a water view, and a more relaxed feeling. I'm not going to say that this was the best dinner I've ever had, but I'd be hard pressed to recall a much better one. When you're anywhere near the Delaware beaches, this place is a must try. ?Wheelchair accessibility: Ramp is available.“

“Really terrific experience. This is a high end very popular restaurant. But one that really cares about the guests. When we made a reservation for outside seating, didn't realize it wasn't enclosed--on what looked to be a cold and rainy night. After we expressed some concern--non-cancellable reservation--the maitre d soon called us and got us inside seating within a half hour of the original reservation. When we showed up they knew who were were and we were seated right away. Warm, friendly attentive and efficient service -- and great delicious food! Very creative and compelling seafood dishes, both for small plates and entrees. Excellent cocktails and wines. High recommended!“

We had Katia look after us and she was superb. dishes: raw seafood special ($54ish) 5/5, soft shell crab 5/5, Manhattans 5.5, value for money 5/5, kids food was excellent. Highly highly recommend. I ended up getting a generous gift card for our hosts as a reflection of how much I think of this place.“

“Ava's is great! Our second time within a few weeks. The Detroit style pizza is a crowd pleaser, but the beignets are a must have for dessert! Staff is friendly and attentive. The managers are always around giving a helping hand where needed, which is a nice thing to see!“
