When I want noodle dishes, I come here. Kakure offers menu items that differ from the other local japanese restaurants, I feel like they fill in cuisine that was missing.Portions are huge for the price, atmosphere is amazing, very comfortable. Good service too.I like that they have Mapo Tofu here

*update We finished the meal at home when we could scrutinize it in an unbiased local. Wife had sick stomach from her beef bowl and after opening the take home container was opened, there was indeed something not right about it. Rice smelled funny too. Maybe the egg that was placed on the dish was bad? Excellent. Big fan of this place. Honestly I feel like they're slept on pretty hard because they're next to Kumamoto, but I prefer this place between the two at this point. You basically never need to wait to sit down here, and the owner's the type of dude to memorize your name and your favorite order after 1-2 visits.
