This has been a go-to spot for anyone visiting the area. The food is delicious and tastes very fresh. Prices are reasonable, though unfortunately that they are no longer as competitive as they once were. Very generous with foods that come with the bowl, so I can sometimes get 2 meals out of 1 bowl. My go to is the chicken bowl with honey jalapeño dressing. I’ve heard great things about other options too!

This is basically Chipotle on steroids. The steak is just amazing and the options of spicy or mild cheese et al is perfect. Highly, highly recommended.

Tried this place for the first time and it definitely exceeded expectations—much better than Chipotle. The prices are slightly higher, but the portions are generous. We ordered the mushroom bowl and veggie burrito, both were excellent. They also serve Mexican cola, which is a nice upgrade from the usual Coke or Pepsi options. The pineapple salsa is absolutely outstanding, and both the chipotle ranch and honey jalapeño dressings were full of flavor. They also have outdoor seating with bar-style tables offering a nice view.

We always love getting food from here! We recently moved out of the area but still stop here when we visit.
El Diablo is the place to go for good quick and tasty Mexican style food.
Pictured below is a vegan style bowl but all of their offerings are tasty and worth the visit.

I’ve been a loyal fan of El Diablo Burritos in Newark, Delaware, for years now, and it’s hands-down one of the best spots I’ve ever eaten at—period. This place churns out quality food that’s consistently delicious, no matter how many times I swing by. The burritos are massive—seriously, you’re getting a pound of pure goodness for your money—and the value is unbeatable. It’s not just about size, though; every bite’s packed with fresh, bold flavors that keep me hooked. From the tender short rib to the zesty mahi-mahi, the variety of meal options is insane—bowls, tacos, quesadillas, you name it, all customizable with toppings like pineapple-habanero salsa and sherry-cured onions that blow your mind.
The service? Always friendly and on point. The staff’s got a knack for making you feel like a regular, even if it’s your first time, and they’re quick to whip up your order without skimping on care. Big shoutout to their military discount too—generous and a real nod to vets, which just adds to the good vibes here. The drinks are a whole other level—organic, cane-sugar sodas from a local company, with flavors like lemon-ginger and grapefruit that are hands-down the best fountain drinks I’ve ever had in a restaurant. Mix ‘em up, and you’ll wish you could take a gallon home.
Located at 127 E Main St, right in the thick of Newark’s college scene, El Diablo’s been a local favorite forever—and for good reason. It’s a must-try if you’re anywhere near the University of Delaware or just passing through. The vibe’s casual but classy, with a clean, modern setup that’s perfect for a quick lunch or a chill hangout. After years of consistent, top-tier service and food, I can’t recommend this place enough. Go grab a burrito (or a bowl if you’re feeling fancy), tip the awesome crew, and see why it’s the talk of the town—five stars doesn’t even do it justice!
