Could have been better
Great restaurant with very good food. A staple of Main Street, it caters to everyone.
crowded, long line, cheap bevs tho. they won’t let u vape but the bathrooms r chill to vape in fr. definitely a college bar don’t expect it to be like a club lol.
Food was decent, but mysteriously had 1.20 added to my bill. I only noticed because I got a text saying my bill was 49.20 after my final total was 48 when I signed for it. Not sure if the waiter added it or they're sneaking 3% service charges on without disclosing it after signature. Either way, we wont be returning to this shady business out of principle. If you like having your money taken without your knowledge, hit this place up.
We come here probably a few times a year and never been disappointed. My favorite thing is to sit and watch all the cute college guys walk by . Sometimes they r shirtless and as a gay guy I really enjoy some good food and great eye candy 🍭. Food here is really good. I enjoy the chicken tenders .
Food was okay, drinks were mediocre and too crowded
A Newark landmark. Always busy. Great atmosphere.
We got the trash can nachos they were good at first but quickly realized that they weren’t proportioned right it was huge witch was great for the price but the cheese layering was bad and quickly realized that there wasn’t enough chicken tenders for the amount of nachos and also they were dry too with the chicken tenders and the fries by the time you could get near half way done the fries get cold as balls the restaurant it self was cool repping the university of Delaware a lot as they should since it’s main street if I come back here again I’d definitely get something else the chicken tenders were really good on it I’d much rather get the chicken tenders and fries separately rather then on the nachos
Manager was EXTREMELY rude to guest. I witnessed him talking to a group of women, and accusing the group to be slurring. He advised that he’d usually advise that they weren’t welcomed and couldn’t stay in the establishment. It’s always the delivery and never the message. Manager advised he wouldn’t be serving any drinks and after they ate their food they needed to leave! I didn’t witness the group being disorderly, obnoxious, or anything, so I was a bit concerned. Not a very welcoming environment, and poor customer service. Leading with accusatory statements seems a bit strange, left a nasty taste in my mouth, also didn’t witness this behavior shown to anyone else in the establishment, several of the staff seemed to support this behavior, truly sad. Won’t be spending my money here anymore, there are far better places on main street that I will visit !
Price, vibe

We were on our way down to Newark to go antiquing and decided to stop into Klondike Kate's for a change of pace and try their brunch. We ordered their chicken and waffles and a Philly cheese steak skillet with two eggs. Both were very good and we would order them again. Only feedback would be that I thought the home fries should have been crispier and they were a bit over seasoned. I really enjoyed the St. Patrick's day theme.
College town bar. Got the steak sandwich; it was pretty good. The atmosphere is worth checking out.
Interesting bar and restaurant in a college town. We attended a surprise 50th birthday party for my niece. We were able to bring in our service dog, Greta, which made it special for us. The lower level bar was packed with college kids and our party was upstairs.
Used to be a great bar for nachos and good priced drinks. That was years ago, though. These days there's always litter and garbage on the sidewalks and streets around the building from the previous night's drunk college kids who dont know what a trash can is. It's disgusting and I can only imagine the lack of cleaning done in the kitchen if this is what the exterior always looks like. Immediate red flag for me. Presentation is everything and clearly there's no longer any pride in appearance here at this historic location. No other bar on Main Street is as consistently filthy outside as this place is. Ever heard of cleaning up after your patrons? I wouldn't step foot in there now.
The prime rib was no good. Tough and fatty.
