Mee Garden - Authentic Asian Cuisine in Newark

I had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant. From the moment I walked in, the place looked unclean and dusty—definitely not a good first impression. I ordered chicken and broccoli with shrimp fried rice, and the quality was extremely poor. The rice was dry, clumpy, and stuck together in patches. The broccoli looked old and withered, and to my surprise, there were mushrooms and green peppers in the dish—ingredients I never asked for and have never seen in this dish before, despite years of eating Chinese food.

The food was so bad I wouldn’t even consider feeding it to my dog. I returned the meal and asked for a refund. Needless to say, I won’t be coming back. I honestly believe the health department should take a look at this establishment.

We took a chance despite the rating. The food is delicious. We will definitely be ordering from them again.

We had the beef and broccoli, which was excellent, the sweet and sour chicken, and chicken with eggplant a garlic sauce. I would get all 3 again.

It’s take out only, but the food is really good and real the way it’s supposed to be the fried rice is the actual fried, not that yellow stuff some places give. Wonton soup is flavorful, lomain is good not mushy, I get from here all the time never had a bad meal.

I got a shrimp egg roll, wonton soup and beef lo mein. I took a packet of hot mustard, and it was obviously very old. It was brown instead of the normal yellow, and had no taste. The crispy chips they gave me to put in the soup where stale. They had no crunch left. And the beef lo main was too greasy. I won't order from them again.

This is the first & definitely the last time I'll order from this place. The food was terrible. They burnt the egg fu young, the rice was like paste, the chicken wings were fried in old oil which made them taste horrible. The brocoli in the brocoli & garlic sauce was over cooked & mushy. A complete waste of money!

Just take out. Food was bland at best. Never in my years have I had to ask for space so I did not this time and no.sauces in with the food. Wouldn't go back honestly.

They screwed up my order again tonight. This is the second time in the past few months that I’ve picked up food from Mee Garden, and they have failed to get the order correct. Naturally, I don’t discover the problem until I am back home opening up the food and by then it’s too late.

The interior of the restaurant is definitely rough around the edges. The food was OK and it was ready when we came to pick it up. Nothing special nothing awful very average.

Lo mein was delicious!

Normally they are on point and the food is good well this evening I got small shrimp fried rice and egg roll...the rice was hard...only 4 pcs of shrimp and the egg roll was overdone...almost burnt like and incredibly chewing. The food was nasty this evening and a waste of 9 bucks.
