Great place to get together with friends for dinner and drinks on Friday and Saturday nights.

The dog friendly room was awesome because we could go straight out the slider to the dog walk area with our pooch. This made the extra dog fee worthwhile for us. We got a great night’s sleep because the room’s climate control was quiet and didn’t blow dry air that dehydrates you while you sleep. We ordered salads at the bar for dinner and took them to our room which was tasty and convenient after an exhausting day. The Starbucks in the lobby was a bonus in the morning for our coffee! The staff was friendly, helpful and efficient. We left totally rested and refreshed. Thank you!
The 🦀 cakes are devine! Service is usually slow, personnel are pleasant though.
I decided to make a reservation as a Valentines Day surprise for my sons (ages 6, 7, and 8) and reserve a hotel with an indoor pool. Fun, right? Indoor swimming in February? We bought new swimsuits and everything. We get to the hotel, and the pool is closed. No advanced notice, nothing upon check in, nothing on the website. In fact, the only reason I chose this hotel was for the indoor pool. So, now I have three boys in tears. Thanks, Courtyard. Happy Valentines Day.
We went to the Courtyard Restaurant attracted by its widely advertised fame that its crab cakes were the best in Delaware. And we were not disappointed - they really are superb. Practically no fillings and all lump crab meat. My wife and I shared an antipasto of some kind of focaccia topped with pesto and prosciutto and we then ordered the crab cake platters. They came with a very tasty side dish of mashed potatoes and string beans, these last perhaps a bit too raw. And, of course, we had a glass of Chardonnay to wash everything down. The total bill came to $ 81.00. The restaurant itself is not very attractive - it's in the lobby of the hotel; and the service, by a very courteous and pleasant young lady - Jenna - was excellent but slow. It wasn't her fault, though. She seemed to be the only one working in the restaurant. Other than that, we had no complaints and plan to return.
Locals have always said this Courtyard Marriott has outstanding crab cakes but it's hard to get excited about going to dinner at a restaurant in a lobby. We finally gave it a shot and were not disappointed. Cakes were as good as any you've probably ever had and the wings were delicious. Craft beers made the meal a big success and the excellent UD ice cream made us plan on returning again. Service was excellent.
If you like crab cakes. Head here. The location and the setting will surprise you. The food is very good. Surprise yourself with some good crab cakes at a very reasonable price. Not much filler and the creole mustard accompaniment is very good. The restaurant is in the hotel in a large open area.
I thought the service was excellent and the food outstanding. The crab cakes are as advertised. Definitely worth another visit.
Food was meh. There wasn't much service. It's convenient if you're at the hotel, but there's much better food in Newark than that.
