I had an unbelievable event on October 2nd. My family and I flew to Dover Delaware from the Bay area in California to celebrate my son's engagement with his great aunt who is 96 years old. After several confirmations the meal was set for 4 PM on the 2nd of October. My great aunt got there at about 3 PM and around 3:30 PM I was notified that the cavering would be 30 minutes late. An hour and a 1/2 later I was informed 45 minutes late. The food did not arrive until after 7 PM. Many of my son's family who attended from distant locations had to leave as some works nights. We spent about $4000 on food for a ruined event. The company promised a partial refund but now does not respond to any phone calls and does not leave messages. The most important person in the party could not wait any longer because she was 96 years old so the party was a complete failure. I have not attempted small claims court at this point but it seems to be my only step as this company refuses to call me back after ruining such a critical event. Not only did I have to pay for 4 airline tickets to get to Dover I also had to pay for hotel and car the car all for an event that was ruined by twice the spice! The loss of celebrating my son's engagement with his 96 year old aunt Was taken from him and can never be replaced. After arriving more than 3 hours late they didn't even apologize and made us carry all the food into the location even though the contract stated they would set it up. Whatever you do, do not trust this company it is the worst caterer in the East Coast.

Food arrived almost 2 hours late. There was no call ahead of time to let us know that there was a power outage and the food would be late. Only found out when they did not show up and we had to call to find out where the food was. The order was missing items and changed without asking. The order was for 200 people and included vegetarian options. Only 10 veggie burgers were included in the order. Food was mediocre at best. There was no apology or offer to discount.

The team did an amazing job for our North Dakota State fan tailgate as the football team faced off against the U of Delaware. Over 300 people were fed with fresh off the grill burgers, brats, hotdogs, & delicious sides. Chef Stephanie and her team epitomized great service and hard work for 4+ hours onsite. The pricing was very reasonable and they easily adjusted as our attendence increased. The crowd praised compliments to our alumni group about the meal and the service that Twice The Spice provided. If the Blue Hens host the Bison again, we'll be making only one call to Carmelia.
